Hi. You do have a BLC connected in your system? And your Moment is showing the link in the display? I can not get this to work.. What have you done? Sorry for asking...

Yes, I have the BLC.

I actually did nothing special.

I just switched the A6 on and did the installation on the beosetup app.

If you have the Moment and one more net link product it should work this way I believe.

How does your setup look like?

Hi.

I have the Moment connected to the BLC and some ML products (BV 10, BV 6 and BL3500) I also have a V1 as a second NL product, but i don't get the link option on the Moment. I also had some technician from BO to have a look at it, and they told me it wasn't possible to have this option at this time when you are using a BLC.. That is why i was so surprised when i saw your picture, because it obviously works Unsure

Maybe the V1 is not considered a full fledged source?

Could be.. Do you always had this option or is this your first NL product besides the Moment?

It is possible to pair an Essence remote with the A6.

Are you satisfied with the sound? Technically: well done, aesthetically it's not my thing.

I agree with you...a friend of mine looked at the pic of the A9 and said "it has all the aesthetic allure of a clothes hamper." Big Smile

It plays well. A bit metallic in the high notes sometimes, but generally I think the sound is good with a nice bass. I use it only for casual listening.

Do you know if the Essence remote will pair with the A6 via bluetooth, or would it be IR? I have two Essence's and I do like the remote.  I hope it is bluetooth as the table remote wouldn't have to be line-of-sight with the A6.  Does anyone know how this would compare to the BeoSystem 8 sound-wise? This like a bargain since it has the capabilities of the Essence which sells here for $795 without the remote.  $200 more for the speaker!

I can't see that there is any IR support for the A6. You can read about connecting to the Essence remote on the Beoplay A6 FAQ page.

Dave.

Correct.

No IR support.

There is a setting in the Beosetup where you setup the pairing.

And apparently you can pair more than one Essence remote if I understood correctly?

Thanks!

I didn't realize they had FAQ's for the A6 yet.  It looks like it wil be perfect for the bedroom when it finally comes to the US.  I do like the Essence's i have. If they can integrate Apple Music in sometime in the future, I may consider joining Apple Music.  I don't have much luck with Twonky server working well.

One thing annoying for me with the A6 is that if I consider a blue one, I also get a grey one.

You should be able to buy the color your whant from scratch.

Not unlike buying a V1 with the wall bracket and not needing to pay for a floor stand , which is what I did.

@Simonbeo

I bought my V1-32 with the wallbracket as the option, that I payed for (seperately).

I guess, they will let you choose the colour of the A6, once it has really landed.

Would be nice but I'm not that optimistic... Look what they do for the A9...  Extra colors or feet are sold separately. It's a way for B&O to make more money by selling you options for high prices, like the foot or other colors.

Whether these are 'high prices' or not, I'll let you decide - but we should be happy, that there are (lots of) options.

Hiort:

Multi room experience:

It's morning. One touch on Moment in my living room and Pattern Play give me my favorite radiostation. When moving into the kitchen area, I activate the BL2000. When done with breakfast, I walk upstairs to get dressed. One touch on A6 and it pickup what Moment plays.

When ready for work, one long touch on A6 is putting the whole system to standby.

Flawless.

If I start with playing on the A6 in my library, I can easily join from Moment in my livingroom.

This is what the TV show when I have joined:

If I have the tv news going and walk upstairs, I just touch A6 for the TV sound to play.

Superhappy.

Is it somehow possible to set a sleep timer in the app, or otherwise? I want to play music when I am going to sleep, and a timer which switches everything to standby after a set time would be great. This feature was in the old BeoPlayer app, so somehow B&O was once aware of this functionality.

I am missing this in the new system, but I cannot yet check because so far I only have an Avant in the Living and an old Playmaker in the bedroom, and upgrading my bedroom system does only make sense if the go to sleep timer is implemented.

Nearly 200 € for a fabric cover on a 1.000 € device it's not "high price" it's "very high price".

Even if the wool is from the upper himalaya.

Further experience with the A6, and some small suggestions for improvements;

Multiroom:

I bumped into some problems here. From start there was a flawless sync in sound, when I joined the TV sound from the A6. I however accidentally swapped TV channels from the A6, and after that the sync was gone. It neither synced towards Masterlink nor A6. All delay settings in BLC, A6 and BV11 looked fine (they shall be the same). Playing music from Moment to Masterlink and A6 still worked in sync, so the TV sound was the only problem.

After consulting my dealer (and powering on / off / resetting etc) he told me that synch cannot be guaranteed with e.g A6 being on WifI.

I plugged the A6 into my router using cable, and suddenly TV sound is in sync. Worth knowing. Will try to Powerline adapters.

Suggestions for improvements:

1) Would be nice to be able to tell what DLNA sources to show in the Beomusic app. When I go in under A6, there are a lot of DLNA sources that I do not use, so that is a bit confusing. When going in under Moment, that looks of course much neater (you just go in under Music), since you tell Moment what DLNA to join. To have a consistent experience between the two would be nice.

2) Add a longer powerlead for the A6 in the package. It´s really quite short if you put the A6 on e.g. a shelf like I did.

Problem:

Suddenly all songs I try to play on A6 from Twonky are "greyed out" in the Beomusic app, so I´m unable to select them.

Tried a hard reset of A6, and redid all settings. No luck. Tried  reset of the Twonky Server. No luck.

Moment have no problems with the same Twonky library.

Anyone experienced this with Twonky? Will report to Beocare tomorrow.

I have this problem with Twonky on my Essence.  Everything I tried to play is greyed out.  I haven't looked at the Essence or Beomusic app as the problem.  I have rebooted my music server and Twonky several times with no luck.  I've gone back to Airplay for my library.

no twonky issue happens also with other servers

login to tunein or deezer and start one of the two

thereafter you have access to your server again

I had this with essence as well. I tried everything, router/NAS reboots etc and I am pretty sure it was clearing the product cache that worked. I use iDevices - try going to settings then scroll down and select beomusic app and 'clear product cache'. Then go back to the app and open again - hope this works for you.

It's all working fine again for me now.

Thanks for the suggestion. I actually changed the Media Receiver setting in the Media Receiver settings page in Twonky. Of some reason Twonky detected the A6 as "Airplay device" or similar. I don't really recall what I changed to (will check tonight when Im home) but after that everything was back to normal and I could select songs again.

Regarding the sync problems I experienced, I got the advice from B&O to change the delay for WLAN from 1000 down to 250ms. I had to go down to even 200ms, but now the sound is in sync.

This is only recommended if you have a good wifi network and all units have good signal strength. But for me it did the trick. Its easy to change this setting in e.g the BEOSetup app and go into the A6 settings under Settings/Beolink. The setting propagate in the network to the other units (NL/ML Converter and BV11 in my case).
