I have recently acquired a pair of B&O højttaler type B speakers in a very good condition purchased together with a "PYE Stereophonic projection System" model number 1005. I have scoured the internet to find any info on these speakers but no luck. Any help is appreciated.
No they are not. But the listing didn't give any info at all.
I have some, what do you want to know about them?
That's great, i haven't tried them because they came without the DIN plugs just the striped cable. Are they good, can i try them with a modern stereo and how much are they worth? Thanks
Some info can be found in our productguide:http://www.beoworld.org/prod_details.asp?pid=873
Are they good?Considering they are fairly simple 2-way mid-1960s small bookshelf speakers, I find them fair.Suitable for modern amplifiers?Yes, like any other passive speakers.Max power rating 4-6 Watts, which if used with anything valve-based should be more than adequate.
How much are they worth?- About what you paid for them, apparently.

Dave Farr:Martin, I don't think it's those Type B's he has. I think it's the larger ones like the beovox 5000's which don't appear very often. I saw a pair advertised recently for a lot of money! Dave.
Dave.
That would be Type K.
I have exactly the same ones sold on eBay but mine came from a general sale. Thanks for the info and the quick replies.
I could put a picture on here if i knew how to.
use the 'insert media' button which looks like a film reel to me and click on the 'From URL' tab. Best use a picture from photo bucket or similar site and copy the URL. Paste the URL into the box labelled as such and change the size to 800 x 600 and press insert. Do not move the picture in your source otherwise it gets lost on Beoworld. Lots of pictures would be nice - including the rear and with the fret off if possible.
Thanks, definitely a job for my son to do tomorrow i have other easy things to do :)
I agree on the photos, we like that but the frets don't come off easily on this model. They are screwed on from inside the cabinet, so don't attempt to take them off.
I read somewhere there is some kind of cotton (or something similar) glued inside that might've deteriorated over the years. I'll probably find out tomorrow.

It's Rockwool in this model. It doesn't deteriorate, it's not glued and it will be fine.(Wear gloves if you absolutely must go in there).

Here's what i have but i dared not opening them.
I don't think i'll be using them but the reason i put "very rare" is because the lack of info which i struggled to find on them on google UK which led me to believe they were rare. I'll be putting them up for auction on eBay sometime in the future when they are tested.
