bayerische:

Mika, you found it in a store?

Yes, my local one. I happened to walk by and popped in to ask if they had some already. I'm such a bad customer that I didn't even bother trying to get it for free, but the retail price is very reasonable Big Smile

If you have been a good boy your local dealer should give you one free - that's the idea I believe...

Is it a limited edition? I noticed it was on Amazon UK (for £23.77), but only has 7 in stock (at time of writing). Usually it states '7 in stock (but more on the way)' if the item is to be replenished.

Maybe Amazon only got a 1-off supply?

Just had an invitation to collect a book from my dealer.

It's a personalised invitation.

Unfortunately it is from the now closed Liverpool store. Obviously someone at HQ forgot what they had done last month.

Go chain yourself to the drainpipe outside B&O HQ in Winnersh and refuse to move until you've got one!! Person

As my dealer told me there are some chosen customers who get an invitation to their store to reveive a book. Did anybody get such a letter of invitation? Today I looked into the store around the two corners, was a little bit disappointed not seeing and listening to a pair of BeoLab 90, because only a very few dealers in Germany get them now. But I got a 26,3 x 2,7 x 31,9 cm compensation to read ...

I have put one away for you at the new Wilmslow showroom. Not that you need a special reason to pay a visit ;-) You can audition the BeoLab 90's while you are here as well.

Got mine from Amazon - I am sure Newcastle would have given me one despite my complete lack of any purchases recently but I don't like being beholden!! Very nice, though Geoff could have smiled! Smile Not the same as the big books which obviously cover the older times far more but very good photos. Looked for a picture of Lee but didn't see one!

Have you received the book from Amazon? My order placed 3 weeks ago has not yet been dispatched Angry. I ordered from amazon.de because it was cheaper than UK (we now get free delivery to Switzerland from Germany...)

Cheers friends,

I'm inquiring as to recommended readings or "must have" books for the B&O audiophile. I'm in search of a gift for a hi-fi enthusiast. This is one of the only strings I could find related to books. Any and all thoughts are appreciated!

This particular book is very good - and you can probably get it from a B&O dealer for a reasonable price. The anniversary book from 10 years back "From Spark to Icon" is huge and has a lot more to read though. If you want to acquire that, don't fall for the extortionate prices some sellers try to pull. As said on page 3 or something on this thread, you can usually get a shrink wrapped brand new one for a clearly two-digit price.

Have you Tim Jarman's book - written from a collecting point of view and up to about 2000. Nice pictures and good text.

Spark to Icon is a wonderful picture book though has mainly advertising copy - but is a weighty and substantial tome! The link takes you to Amazon.

The Art of Impossible is here.

Hi Peter, it doesn't seem like any of the links you posted worked. Could you please try again.

Also, what are folks' thoughts on this? http://www.ebay.com/itm/The-Bang-Olufsen-book-of-hi-fi-How-hi-fi-works-how-/140356152489?hash=item20ade0eca9:g:9C4AAOSwVFlUB9cv
