Hi all,
I've a B&O MCL2P which works great but for one thing - on power up and shutdown it sends through an awful pop through the speakers.
I've replaced every electrolytic cap that has a direct earth, including the larger 6800uF and 1000uF ones and it hasn't made the slightest bit of difference.
I'm wondering if the relay RL1 is known to be an issue for the MCL2P? Is this or any other component a good candidate for checking?
Many thanks
Dan
Hi Dave,
I'm running a Beocenter 9500 via the powerlink out to the mcl2p and then Beovox S75 speakers.
I've swapped in a later model Beolink passive and its working perfectly with just a subtle bit of noise as it starts up and switches off on command from the Beocenter.
In contrast it is quite loud and nasty when the mcl2p is in the same configuration - aside from that annoying/disturbing trait it's working great so I'm unsure what to try next. I want to use it to drive another set of speakers, so it would be great to get it working optimally.
Thanks,
Are you running it with the MCL2AV?
Dave.
No, i hadn't thought to try that - a few of those were in the consignment with the mcl2p - i just connected the speakers straight into the speakerlink terminals.
I have no idea (as I don't use them) but my understanding from reading the bumph in the product section on the two units implies they are designed to be used together. Maybe that may help attenuate any of these noise issues. Also gives you more control and options.
