Hello there,

I am wondering if the Beo1 remote does operate the Beosound Century? I have tried to reprogrammed it with the hints in the BeoWorld archived forum but I was only able to switch off the Century buy holding the standby bottom for approx. 2 sec. Please advise.

Best wishes,

Wasti

Hi Wasti

Did you configure your BeoRemote One by adding "Beo 4 audio" to the list of products you want it to control?

A long button press of the stand by button will turn off every B&O product it sees.

Opman, I'm pretty sure Wasti is talking about the old beo1 remote (designed to control the BC1 / BV1) rather than the BeoRemote One.

I recall reading posts about switching it to send beo4 style IR commands so that it can be used to control other devices and seem to remember it being tricky to get it into this mode but can't remember the details (and I've never owned one).

Martin.

The old and beautiful, ergonomical Beo 1 needs to be reprogrammed to control other devices. BUT: It will only control other Beovision TVs. I had no luck with audio systems after reprogramming.

Thank you for your replies. Yes, I am talking about the all aluminum old Beo1 remote controller. The reprogramming works with the Beosound 2300/2500 but it does not want to work with the Century which is a shame...

Beo1 is able to control all products in videomode, because it was originally designed for BV/BC1.

This include audio sources that are masterlinked to a BV (videomaster) set to V.OPT 2 and audiomaster set to A.OPT 0.

If your Beo1 is able to control a BC2300/2500 I assume it is set to A.OPT 2 which enables your BC to detect video commands.

BS Century only detects audio commands, so it won't work with your Beo1.

Hope this helps

Stefan
