Hi everyone

No display on one off the penta.

Switched the display and it is working on the other one, so not a display issue.

Switched the cable with the one working on the penta, nothing

Unbuild the amplifier, tested the transformer and I have 11 volts on the 2 white wires.

Then 10.85 volts on the 7 pin between 2 and 3 (at least I think, pins faced towards me and left side pins)

Then 10.55 volts between the black and red wire on the square plug of the display.

Have made a continuity check between female din plug 7 pins and the female square plug of the digits. Turns out OK

Any help would be appreciated

Green or yellow display?

The yellow display has problems with solder cracks and a dead capacitor, causing short circuit.

Hi

It's a green display, not the Amber one

If no one changed it :-(

It's a beolab 6631 if that can help, and they still look like new. So they are worth to fix.

Ok found the 6631 service manual and it's week-end so have a little time to work on the beolab.

11 volts are present on white plug pin 102-2 and 102-3, wire here is blue and red.

I must miss something here ??? how can the display work on the left penta  and not on the right one. There is power going to the display.

Sure, but what about all the other signals, including the position of the A/V switch on the speaker?

With what source are you driving these penta's?

WIth a videosource (beovision), the switch at the bottom makes an active short to ground. without this short to ground, it works with audiosources (beomaster/centers)

Common problem are also locates inside the amplifier section, as the wiring starts from there.

Make it easy...

Test one display in the other box...and vice versa.

Then you know: box power supply or display dead.

Hi everyone

Sorry for late reply but it's christmas time and I am so busy.

I finally tested the switch and replaced it from another unit, and guess what ? the displays are working like a charm now.

So much work for a little switch, I think it took me more than an hour to fit back the amplifier in the penta's.

Thank's for the help but I do not remember who pointed me to the switch.

Now I have to install a DVB-T in a beovision 5, will open a new post.

Happy holidays to everyone from France.
