hi,
I have a Beovision MX5000 and the sound does not work.
If i connect a DVD on AV input, I have image on but no sound.
It seems that the amplifier is working, but there is no connection between AV input and the amp.
Any help is welcome!
Thanks
You have a VX5000?
The VX can send a HF TV signal, picture and sound.
Check if there is also no sound...
Good afternoon,
Sorry for the delay in answering your message.
First, I presume that you are using the RCA connectors.
You must then check if the setup for the AV2 input in the TV menus is properly done. After, ensure that all cables are working properly. If there is still no sound, then the problem is caused by bad capacitors in the A/V switching board. Audio and video switching use different circuits, so the video switching may work but not the audio. When replacing capacitors on the A/V switching board, cut the pins of the bad capacitors using pliers just under the capacitor and pull out the pins from the printed side to avoid lifting pads on the component side (the A/V board has circuit prints on both sides). This is because the leaked electrolyte has corroded the pads and made them extremely fragile. You may even have to add jumper wires to restore proper circuit continuity. All of that is explained on my repair guide.
Good luck,
Jean
