I love the capability of the new Q box

Concerned about a Bluetooth remote.

I am hoping I can have a small box in my bedroom that allows me to pull TV and my sky+ planner to my bedroom.

I cannot believe there is not work discussion about this.

Hi Seanie,

Probably because SKY is last decades way to watch television. There are so many better and my gosh, cheaper methods to access HD and 4K TV in 2015. Sky's 15+ music channels aren't even in HD - in 2015!!! They look absolutely terrible. Use a VEVO app on a smart TV or Apple and you've on demand music all in HD!

You'll just need a SkyQ version of this: http://www.re-bl.com/  - surely someone is on the case?

It could potentially have both IR and BT I suppose as the next Foxtel box has both.

Hello BeoTeam

I called Sky today as I want to buy this ASAP

Below are some facts for you all

  • Sky HD and SkyQ will require a special LNB if you want both to work in the same house
  • SkyQ Silver box has two feeds to the dish and the Mini boxes do not connect to the dish they talk to the main box
  • The Main room (Silver) box has bluetooth and IR and the box comes with two remote controls.
  • The bluetooth remote has a touch pad and future voice control
  • The main box also has IR to use with its other remote
  • There are roumours that says the box might be able to work with SKY HD remotes with a setting slected mean existing PUC will work
  • All channels are HD
  • the Mini box only uses IR
  • the full package with one silver box and one Mini box is £88 per month
  • the normal plus sports is £79
  • install if you have a larger package is £100
  • install if you dont is £300
  • currently you can only order it if you have sky broadband but this ends soon
  • i think only three Mini boxes can stream from the main box at the same time but this might be two

Hi Seanie

how are you getting on with SKY Q - is this connected to the Avant

I woiuld like to know what is the ULTRA HD football is like on the avant and is there any films to watch in Ultra HD

I am thinking of upgrading my sky package and i dont have my broadband with them

your thoughts on this will be welcomed

Hi there

My SkyQ box is connected to a 7-55 and V1-32 so no ultra HD for me.

Still the SkyQ is exactly what I wanted at home replacing distribution of HD via a metric.

Everything works well but I need to open my cupboard as the sky box seems to overheat when locked away causing some network problems

I just achieve this via a HDMI splitter device, using the regular box?
