Hello!

I have noticed that I cannot get any sound from the swedish TV channels SVT 1 or SVT 2.  They are the only two channels that I have noticed to get a Dolby-symbol with a loudspeaker when the channel is chosen.

The V1 Says "KAN INTE AVKODA" which is Swedish for CAN'T DECODE".

I have had this problem since I got the V1 and the channels work without an issue on my other TVs.

Isn't it weird?  I guess it might be possible to choose to use the non-dolby sound but I can't find that either, and I really don't want lower sound quality than is possible. I want dolby and I want it to work =)

Normally the KAN EJ AVKODA sign comes from the CA system and has to do with access rights rather than sound. Is it svt hd you have? The hd versions are not free.

Btw, If you are using only stereo speakers the MPEG sound is of higher quality, it uses about the same bitrate for 2 channels as the Dolby track uses for 5.1

Hi I dont have a ca-module installed. Are using our fibertv cable network with dvb-c that works on other tvs. Good if the sound is better in mpeg but I want Dolby to work. I get picture just no sound.

Very strange.

By the way, do the V1 even work with HD transmissions on the built in decoder?

I think it is complaining that you don't have a card inserted

That is not the issue, I have the exact same channel on three other TVs :) It is only the V1 that can´t play it and the channels are free. It is just the sound that is missing, not the picture.

do you get Dolby on the other 3 tvs?

One of them is an Avant and the Dolby-icon lights up when I go to the SVT-channels. I have a digital receiver-box installed that I have put in the empty space inside the TV. I have a SPDIF cable going to the SPDIF input on the TV so it recognizes the dolby feed when it receives it and the sound works very good.

My main tv is a samsung tv that also works well. It is connected to a yamaha receiver with optical SPDIF and when I look at SVT it also says Dolby on the yamaha receiver.

The third one is my old bedroom tv that also was a samsung, which worked well but I never looked if it was on dolby or not, but I definitely think so.

Probably sound format is analogue dolby surround because only then the symbol at your avant lights up.

This would mean V1 can only decode dolby digital but not dolby surround analogue.

Hi Räuber, No it is the DD logo, dolby digital. Not Pro logic. I have the DVD RF avant and it also has the Dolby Digital logo. So that is not the issue, it is something else. Thanks however for your input :)
