Due to a change in the way the bbc now streams radio programes the beosund 5 encore does not work with the bbc stream. Does anyone know of a way to update this, does not seem as though b and o support the beosound with updates and not being able to use the bbc radio is a real pain.

Current b and o Products

beosound 5 encore, beolabs 6000, beogram 4500, playmaker mk1

There's another thread on this somewhere. No idea on the final outcome. All I can add is that my Olive One has the same problem. When I finally heard from Olive they claimed that the new format m3u8 (or whatever it is) should be readable but I can't get anything. Another suggestion was that the BBC now use some sort of Flash wrapper for their streaming. All pretty unbelievable really.

I have the same problem with all BBC radio chanels - I receive a broadcast announcement stating they no longer provide the service in a windows media format.

I have the latest softare update and am on BT infinity broadband

I phoned B&O and they suggested a buy a new router to replace the BT infinity router.

I am not convinced this will solve the problem and would be £130 worse off.

Has anyone else had this problem and managed to resolve it?

To be honest with you im getting a bit dissillusioned by bang and olufsen lack of after sales service, if very expensive equipment becomes not useful for the purpose I bought it for, I might as well buy cheaper options rather than paying the b and o prices. This not the first time ive felt a lack of customer support. I have a beosound 9000 in for repair its been so far two months and yet im still waiting to hear whats wrong with it, call the service department someone tells me ill be called back and no one calls back.

It's a problem caused by the BBC, and the BBC claims to have consulted streamer/radio manufacturers about the changes.
