I have a non HDMI Beovision 7 -32", which has been connected to a Virgin+ STB for years (HDMI to Dvi via a converter and sound through RCA plugs from the STB).
The STB packed up a couple of weeks ago and was replaced with the Samsung version of Virgins V+ box. This box has no separate audio out except an optical link.
This was working solely via a scart lead to the AV1 port until yesterday, when the V+ box started auto detecting HD via HDMI and supplying a HD picture but with no sound at all.
I have tried re setting everything by unplugging all cables and setting connections in the TV connections again. AV1 set at STB(DTV) and selecting the only Samsung option in the menu. I've also tried with just a Scart lead connected and then again with the HDMI via the Dvi connection, no change.
Can anyone help, I think I'm going around in circles and getting confused.
