So we're looking for an alarm/clock/radio, but literally everything out there seems to be cheap plastic rubbish.

Would be great to find a B&O or similar quality thing, well made from good materials - but I think the only B&O product that might have suited was Beosound 3 which is now discontinued and it's hard to find a perfect second hand one... also is it actually any good as an alarm clock??

Any ideas/opinions very welcome!

Greg

PS most recent one we have tried was Revo SuperSignal which is sort of OK to look at and sounds good, but (ironically) not great at picking up an FM signal and the alarm setting process is stupidly complex.

When it was available, the Bedtime alarm clock was wonderful. While it was just an alarm clock, it could turn on another piece of B and O equipment when the alarm sounds.

If you want to activate B&O equipment or just wake up to the increasing chime signal of it, try to get a 2nd hand or new

I can not recommend Tivoli audio... my wife bought one for the kitchen after the 2nd Beosound 3 died and the quality (it's just a radio) is not very good. When you switch e.g. from FM to AUX you hear loud noises from the speaker... unbelievable for a nowadays product.

Thanks for these suggestions; I don't think either Tivoli or Brionvega are quite the quality of things I'm looking for - both a bit plastic looking. Not sure how the Beotime alarm works, though it looks beautiful, and in any case we have no other B&O stuff in the bedroom...  I guess I have to give up for now and buy some cheap plastic thing!  G.

The Beotime is made out of aluminium and you can use it without any Bang & Olufsen equipment!

You can e.g. use devices like the Lightmanager from jbmedia (even the old ones) to switch on the lights with compatible sockets when the alarm starts.

I just spotted this wake-up light in local commercials Big Smile

I can also recommend the flute-model Beotime. But be sure to replace the batteries in time if you rely on it actually waking you up.

If you have an iphone just get the old beoplayer app. It can work as an alarm clock with the same chimey sound we all love from the beotime.

You can also select a song or a radio station to wake you, and it does simply cost ... Nothing.

You can't get the 'old beoplayer' app anymore.

So - unless you already had gotten it at some point earlier - you unfortunately can't benefit from that little gem anymore.
