Can anyone shed light onto what mechanism, or part of the door hinge mechanism creates the smooth action of the flip down Beosystem 1 doors?

Some of the doors on the cabinet(s) I have, close smoothly, while others, just "slam" up without any slow, smooth action. I can't tell any difference between the mechanisms of the door hinges. There are no missing parts, springs are in place, nothing's visually amiss, and all the screws that hold the mechanisms to the inside of the cabinet are tight.

What should I be checking for? Is there something of an easy fix?

Thanks so much!

I would also be interested in a solution for these slamming doors.
