Hi

I have received a beovision 7 DVB-T module (I think it's a beovision 7 module) all what I can see on the board is

A6143104
B&O ver I
(p/k)

Mounting instruction says kit 1403800 / 1446400

Can this be mounted on a beovision 5 ??? or it's only for beovision 7

I don't know the answer to your question but I would very much doubt whether it would be worthwhile trying to fit this tuner. Is your BV5 HD or SD?

Do you already have a STB for receiving satellite or terrestrial signals? If you need a tuner upgrade it's probably better to check the PUC settings in the TV and find a compatible STB, although you will probably need to look at the second hand market because most boxes from the BV5 era are now out of production.

It's an SD, but I am getting sick and tired of this constant technology change, nothing is compatible with nothing. Manufacturers are inventing and creating needs that are not usefull for mankind, but only very usefull for their business, not talking that businesses need to make money but it is getting a money obsession. Always more and more. Here people are complaining that life is complicated, it is tuff because food is getting too expensive etc....

But when you see them they have all the latest technology and cars, no talking about an 800 euros cell phone and that is not really necessary.

Anyway the BV5 is working on a box but it uses another remote control, and I would like to control the BV5 with a beo5 remote.

One day because of such behavior, I will have to buy a new 32" TV and fit it in the BV5 cabinet, and that is ridiculous as it still work.

Not talking about this year present to the kids called a WII U, that only has an HDMI output. I had to fix an old 32" plasma so they can play with.

I have heard HDFurry anyone on that ???

It's a long time since I had to change the box on my BV5, but you need to look at the TV's list of boxes that can be controlled with a Beo4/5 aand then buy an appropriate box. In the UK the standard box for freeview was a Panasonic model (search the archive threads) and the main unchanging box for satellite was Sky. Once a compatible box and IR blaster cable are installed you can have the control you want. You can also get a later PUC by buying a second hand HDR1 and connecting the IR blaster to that instead of direct to the TV. The lists of compatible STB's are all here somewhere either in archive threads posted by Keith or in the information pages. I have to admit that the BV5 is such a nice looking TV that if and when something fails I may well investigate putting a new 42 inch LCD or later screen in and even hide a new cinema system with speakers in the base. You can probably do all that for much much less than the cost of a call out and failed module/ plasma screen replacement. Graham

Hi Vikinger

Thank's for your reply

I am in france and since I have this DVB-T module I will try to fit it in it, if needed I will submerge B&O with emails.

There will be another change here after new year in the TNT system, we go to full HD, will see what is going to happen to our TV's.

What I think about is all these person's that are from 60 to 80 years old, that do not understand anything in these change's and that have limited money. And it looks like it is not the primary concern of today's companys.

Today kids spend all money in fashion, electronics etc... but for food ??? before it was the reverse.

Since I have 3 of these BV5, I will not throw them away.

I received your email this afternoon about your question/problem.

The 4 digit type numbers for the DVD-T for the BeoVision 7 and the BeoVision 5 are different as below. The differences are small, but nevertheless they are different.

  • Old AVANT DVD - 28 uses DVT-T Type Number 4463
  • Old AVANT DVD - 32 uses DVT-T Type Number 4463
  • BeoVision 3 - 32 uses DVT-T Type Number 4463
  • BeoVision 5 uses DVT-T Type Number 4462
  • BeoCentre 6 -26 uses DVT-T Type Number 4466
  • BeoVision 6 - 26 uses DVT-T Type Number 4466
  • BeoVision 7 - 32 uses DVT-T Type Number 4464
  • BeoVision 7 - 40 uses DVT-T Type Number 4464

In your email to me you stated that:-

"I received a dvb module for beovision 7. But it was given to me as a DVB-T module with a instruction for kit 1403800 / 1446400"

I can confirm that Part Number 1446400 is the part Number for a DVB-T for a BeoVision 7 Type 4464

You need to also consider the Software level of your BeoVision 5 as there are minimum TV software levels to allow the DVB-T to work. If you have a full DVB-T installation kit the software chip will be included.
