I remember back in the 80s when the family Sharp hi-fi had speakers with these connectors. I now have a pair of Beovox 3000 flat panel speakers on the wall and will need the same connectors to hook up to the Beomaster. My question is, if gold plated this and that in terms of banana plugs are so prevalent why are all these 2-pin DIN connecters made of cheap looking plastic and stainless pins? I'm no expert, but isn't that a degradation right there, $$$ of equipment to be hooked via something so cheap? Or doesn't it make a difference? I wish I could just connect bare wire to the Beomaster since bare wire is what the 3000s are connected to.
