I've no knowledge about the Beocom 5 to be honest, but I remember Moxxey giving it a hard time a few years ago. I've bought a new book shelf, and my Beocom 2 doesn't fit between the shelves!

Rather than admit defeat I suggested we needed to invest in some new technology, and the Beocom 5 being the newest set fits the bill. What are your experiences?

Beosound Stage, Beovision 8-40, Beolit 20, Beosound Explore.

Loses connection, stop/restart while answering a call.

I use it with speaker when I call for my electricity counters (when you have to press # 1 # etc), it never worked).

And the sw is up to date.

I bought it to replace my Beocom 6000 mk1 bought 17 years ago and every one in the house uses the 6000 except me.

Much smaller in real than in picture.

If you don't phone very often it will be ok, it's a nice little product but don't expect much of it and don't get mad because it's reversed compared to 6000 or 2 (you dial on one side and speak on the other).

Never had any issues with mine.

Only found out by accident a few months ago that you can disconnect the base from the power and still use it as a hands-free speaker!

Apart from the tech issues, very occasional drop outs, turns itself off etc, it holds none of the excitement of the BC2.

I use my BC5 everyday for work, the speaker base is superb for hands free calls but I'm afraid the handset itself is not a design classic and fiddly to use.

I use my BC6000 or BC2 for friends and family

Honestly, I think you will miss the BC2.
