Hi there

Thank you.

So I assume you have one convertor per device and the ML cable is only connected between the two of them not all ML devises connected together.

Seanie, your right one BS per BLC. The ML systems are not connected

My hat is off to Carolpa 👍

Bravo!

N.B. It would be nice (and helpfull), if you could post a 'drawing' of your setup.

Things like this really proves the worth of B&O/NL - those, who claims, that all you need for 'multiroom' is a couple of ChromecastAudio's, should read this post.

MM

There is a tv - and there is a BV

I agree.

I don't own any NL products yet (except for a NL/ML converter, which I bought because I had the opportunity to buy it used at a very good price and because I'm intending to buy an essence very soon), but having spent most of the afternoon in my local store yesterday listening to the BL90s and at the same time transferring sources between lots of different NL devices I feel like I have a much better feel for what is possible and for how well it all integrates.

NL really does open up a whole new world of possibilities, as Carolpa's setup demonstrates.

Martin.

volume is dependent of the setup. I don't have speakers connected to the bs3000

That is cool news! :-)

Is it a Beosound 3000 MK1 or MK2 or doesn't it matter?

Is the Beosystem 7000 controllable in the same way as the Beosound 3000? Why doesn't B&O do marketing for that???

It is a mkII, but I don't think it will matter!

Yep, so all sources connected to the BM7000 (datalink)  (record player/a.tape/cd)

That are really great news! Who could imagine that you can control an >20year old system with todays software? VERY nice from B&O!

I guess this will work with Beosound 9000, Beocenter 2 etc., too?!

Beosound 5?

Yep, that too. There shouldn't be any issues with connecting a BM5/BS5 to a NL network using the NL/ML converter (indeed it is one of the examples shown in the handbook)

Kind regards,

Martin.

Do you have the nl converters connected directly to each device?

And then on to the network?

Or are they connected in a rack room somewhere?

Just curious about how you've done this.

All NL products are connected with cat 7 to a switch in my study. The switch is connected to a B&o dedicated router with is connected to another router connected to the internet. The BLGW and the BLC are also in my study. The other BLC is tucked away behind the BS7000 in my AV-room together with the T1611. This was done by choice: or a cat 7, or ML cable or a combi of a PL and Datalink cable. I did choose the first.

Yes it works. 1984 Beogram 6006 + 1987 Beocenter 9000 feel fine in NL setup.

Kind regards,

Yann.

Forgive me if this is a dumb question from someone who is still trying to understand NL......

Connecting a NL converter to the BS3000 and a second NL converter to the 7000 allows them to show up in the app and be controlled......so....

What would happen if a NL converter were attached to a BV7 or BV10 in the same manner? Would the BVs then be visible in the app and controllable via the app?

But it would still just give basic control of the BS5, no ability to select music, correct?

If you want this... Try the mlgw. It gives to what you're after.

As I understand correctly: You'll need one NL/ML-Converter per device? If you have e.g 5 Beosounds/Beosystems in your setup you'll need 5 NL/ML converters to control them via software and be shown in the software? I thought you can configure multiple ML-sources in that converter or am I mixing up the devices!? :-)

to control them all with a remote would be impossible.

Why people want a NL/ML per device is to be able to maneuver them with the app. If you just want your link system to be extended to include NL products, you do not need multiple NL/ML converters.
