I have a BEO10 which i wanted to connect a non B*O DVD / blue ray via HDMI cable
I can get the DVD to play on any other TV screen but not he DVD setting on the BEO10
I have gone not settings and selected an AV port and set to HDMI 2 - what else is required to make this connection work please ?

Hi Grantxtian
Welcome to beoworld.
That should be about it, but given it is obviously not working for you can you post a photo showing the configuration screen so we can see if there is anything you might have missed or set incorrectly?
Kind Regards,
Martin.
You need a PUC cable to control the DVD player, and the TV (I assume BeoVision 10) must have the PUC-codes installed for that certain kind of player, or at least the correct manufacturer (many uses the same generic codes for their entire product line up). The BV10 is not a connected system, so if it does not contain the right PUC codes then you will have go let B&O configure it for you. If you don't have a PUC cable then I would suggest that you call your retailer about it. They are not very expensive. It´s a thin cable with an IR transmitter in one end and a connector in the other. The IR-transmitter is glued to the IR receiver on your DVD player and that is how the communication between your TV and DVD-player will work for commands. The HDMI cable will only be used to transfer audio/video and not control commands for playback.Kind regards,Michael

Hi Michael,
The way I read Grantxtian's post, I assumed he is having difficulties even getting a picture from his DVD player. Of course, if he is seeing a picture and is able to control the player with its own remote, then you are entirely correct about needing the correct PUC table installed if he wishes to control it with his beo4 remote.
Kind regards
Thanks to all so far
I am getting a blank screen
Happy to manually use the DVD player - just looking to get picture and sound working first
Can you post a photo of how you have the Input configured in the connections menu (or list each option and what it is set to if you can't take a photo)?
In the settings you will have to assign one of the buttons of the remote (mostly the DVD button) to that HDMI port.
Otherweise you can not open the right (HDMI) port to show anything.
Are you using a good HDMI cable?
I agree with Michael, that it makes much more fun to use the B&O remote for controlling it.
But untill you decide for that, you can easily use the original remote for controlling the device itself (as long as its ir-receicer in within reach).
Note: if you are lucky, you might even find a puc entry (during the setting up process), that matches your device. In that case, all you'd need, would be the ir-cable.
Have you already consulted the userguide of the BV10???

Okay, since you've configured this as DVD2 you will need to select DVD2 on the beo4 remote control.
To do this you will need to press LIST repeatedly until DVD2 is shown on the display of the remote, then press GO.
If this is already what you are doing, let us know exactly what happens when you do this (starting with the television in standby). If DVD2 is not in the list on your remote, let us know and we can talk you through adding it.
Hi Martin
I am pretty sure it is not there on the list
I am away for 2 days in another city working
from memory when i press list nothing comes up
if you can advise how to add it would be greatly appreciated
Ok:
Hold down the POWER button and press LIST, release both buttons.
press LIST repeatedly until ADD? is displayed, press GO
press LIST repeatedly until DVD2 is displayed, press GO
You can then press LIST until DVD2 is displayed (just once if it's the only item in the list) and press GO to turn the TV on and select the blueray player you have connected and configured as DVD2.
The instructions were perect and simple
It is now working fine
Much appreciated
