I recently purchased a Beo7-32 mk 3. Without any way of testing it from the seller I took a bit of a gamble. Having now hooked it up to a Bush Freesat HD box (via Dvi and scart for audio) I've noticed very fine (small) fleckles appearing randomly on screen. They're very small, flash on rapidly across the screen and so small that they aren't detectable at viewing distance. Nevertheless I'd like to understand what's causing them to appear.

Could it be Leads? TV screen issue? Freesat box?

BTW, these 'flecks' do not appear when I play a Dvd.

Has anyone experienced this kind of thing before and therefore suggest a solution? Failing that all suggestions on likely cause are appreciated and most welcome.

Thanks

Hi

It sounds like what is called "sparkles" and is usually caused by either very long or poor quality HDMI / DVI leads or adaptors.

Kind Regards,

Martin.

I'd say so too.

Try another (better) cable.

I appreciate the replies and suspect you are both right - the current cable is an cheapie ebay special!

I'll go up-market and see what happens. Will let you know how I get on

Thanks both, you were spot-on with your suggestion that it was the lead at fault. What a difference a few more £££ spent makes. All now sorted.

Whilst I'm on, do you know what constitutes high usage on a bv7 in terms of days. Mine shows video days at 685 and 'on' at 440. And that's high worth getting a service? Picture is okay, not brilliant.

cheers

I think that's relatively ok and not high.

I found that I was disappointed with the picture on all the B&O tv sets I have BV8 and 2 x BV6 - if you go into the service menu you can alter the contract, colour, brightness above those that are on the user menu - this made a massive difference to mine anyway. Copies of the right manual are available on this site but you need a membership to access them - hope this helps.
