Beosound 4000 AUX Questions

Hey guys.  

 

 

Was just trying to hook up an iPhone to my Beosound 4000 (Overture) earlier this evening.    Things did not go great.  It seems I had the right cable to attach to the AUX port but I can barely hear the sound unless I turn the volume all the way up on both the iPhone and the 4000 (Overture). Any ideas on what is going on here?   Maybe the wrong cable?   Just looking for some advice.

I had a similar experience with an iPod Dock. Was working fine on the AUX input for some time and one day the volume turned very low. Also tried at my dealers display unit with the same result. My Airport Express with another cable works fine.
