Hi guys,
I have recently inherited a BeoSound 3000. The system is in perfect working condition but hasn't been used in a couple of years and is in need of some updating. I am new to B&O and have a few questions about the system:
1. I would like to stream audio from my iphone to the system. Is this possible? Would it be best to use a bluetooth adapter or some sort of wifi streaming device?
2. The current remote is worn and has a pixel issue on the display. Is there a way to update or replace the remote?
3. Are there any addition upgrades or new B&O products that I should be looking to add to the system to enhance its performance?
I greatly appreciate any insight or suggestions.
Thank you.
Hi and welcome to Beoworld,
Congrats on your 'new' BS3000.
1: the 3000 has an A.Aux-in - means a port, where you can connect an external audio source.
With the right cable you can connect (almost) any device from a mobile phone/tablet over a bluetooth device to wireless streaming devices like the Chromecast Audio, an Apple AirPort Express, a B&O Playmaker, a BS Essence (box) - you name it.
These possibilities are often siscussed on the forum - please do some searching/reading.
2: you can easily buy a good, working second hand Beo4 on the secondhand market. You can also get yours repaired from one of the B&O dealer or get hold on the spare parts, if you are able to diy.
3: the BS 3000 has MasterLink support - means you can integrate it with other B&O devices such as LinkRoom speakers and B&O-tv's. With the NL/ML Converter you can even integrate it with the newest (NetworkLink-based) products.

Hi.
Welcome to the world of B&O.
Did the BS3000 come with Beolab speakers? The reason I am asking is if it didn't you may not realise you need either Beolab speakers or a seperate amp to power passive speakers. I have a 3000 with S80 passives powered with an MCL2P amp - works fine.
Sorry for stating or asking the obvious if you already have Beolabs but if you are new to B&O and only got the 3000 on its own you may be wondering what speakers to use.
As MM has said, maybe do some research on this forum for further advice.
Enjoy your BS3000.
G.
Sorry for multiple posts. Moderators please remove 2. iPad playing up.
Yes, the BeoSound 3000 did come with a pair of BeoLab speakers. They sound great! Thank you for the note!
