Thank you :D

I was a bit nervous if a new speaker pair was introduced, as I have just ordered a pair of Beolab 20, now I am more thrilled then ever to receive my new speakers :D

Congratulations! Beautiful piece of kit you have coming.

The beauty is with B&O, even if your product becomes "superseded" so to speak, you have endless years of enjoyment from it. Enjoy them!

I'm sure there are a few more things up B&O sleeves for tonight :D Let's wait and see!

Very interested to see if this BeoSound has any technology from the BL90.

I wonder what price point this will be and if it will compete with the A6 if it is an entry level system.  I'm sure it will be much more than the A6?!

Pricing was rumoured to be the same as the A6. It matches the functionality of the A6 I'd guess.

Makes sense: remake of the 3500, in line with the "grown up" Bang & Olufsen brand that, at the speaker side of things, is continually "citing" the David Lewis heritage products.

This is a "BeoSound" rather than a "BeoPlay" product, so I'm sure it is priced higher than the A6, more than the Essence, as it actually contains drivers, amps, etc. (an all in one solution for music) heck might even be more than the Moment. The Moment (ie. sans any speakers, etc) is over $3000US. This thing, with more aluminum, speakers, amps, etc, might be priced even more.

Edit: Just read 1990's post below. Heck if it is priced around the same as an A6, it'd be considered a downright bargain!

And I said I didn't like the pentagram shape!

i love the tapered shape with it at the ends though.

This looks good especially in a Beosound as opposed to Beoplay level of finish, but I assume it's pricey.

Yeah, I'm looking for the source of that price info but can't find it anymore. Must have been wishful thinking (cc @Sal).

I'd say 2.000 euros would be the sweet spot.

If this is priced close to the A6, I wonder how many of these buyers will have some remorse.  I just bought the A6 for my sister, but I don't know if I would have waited a little longer to see how this stacks up against it...

I wonder what makes it a Beosound, as opposed to a Beoplay product? What I mean is, it obviously isn't a Beolab so is it more of an all in sound system?

Love the revamped designs B&O have launched recently. Beolab 20 for instance. Let's have a relaunched 11-55Yes - thumbs up

The aluminium and the ability to control it with a Beo4/BeoRemote One, I think.

Besides the fact I don't believe we've seen this level or interact-ability with BeoPlay products on the device itself.

I'll post this here too (also in the CES thread). Not too keen on the design, though. Anyone get wind as to whether this would be able to give 'simulated surround sound' for movies?

According to IBT "The BeoSound 35 joins the likes of Bowers & Wilkins' Zeppelin and Sonos' Play:5 as premium options for all-in-one audio but, as expected, this comes in more pricey with RRP from £1,745. There's no question it's a beautiful-looking speaker (it's actually more like a soundbar compared to other all-in-ones on the market) but that's a lot more than both the mentioned rivals. However, for discerning audiophiles this probably won't matter. The BeoSound 35 will be available for the audio aristocrats come mid-April 2016."

"The rock-solid cabinet on BeoSound 35 is carefully formed from an extruded aluminium profile. It is 3 mm thick, to ensure the necessary material stiffness and also to guarantee optimal heat dissipation. Both the cabinet surface and the end caps have been polished and anodised. If you look closely you will notice the distinctive gap between end caps and cabinet, and between cabinet and front cover – making that area precise was a daunting task, as it required extreme precision. It was done to highlight the capabilities of aluminium, and because it embodies the attention we give to every single detail."

Thats probably what makes it B&O rather than Beoplay ,even though the V1 was metal too...

Apple AirPlay, Buetooth 4.0, DNLA,

MP3, WMA, AAC, ALAC, FLAC, WAV, AIFF.

Sample rates up to 192kHz, 24 bit

Ethernet & Wifi b/g/n 2.4GHz and 5Ghz

Spotify Connect & Deezer.

This thing certainly ticks all the boxes Smile

The aluminium part is reminiscent of the way the BL4000 design was evolved in the BL17.

Martin.

The rumours were that this was going to be a Beoplay S forty-something (I can't remember which number), so I wonder whether the rumours were just incorrect, or whether the product naming / categorisation was changed?

With great products like this that can stream from a DLNA server, it's a shame that B&O discontinued the Beo6 rather than expanding the 2-way music search capabilities of the Beo6 for other B&O products. It would have been great to have been able to use the Beo6 to search Tune-In / N.Radio stations, too. I know that we can use our phones for this, but it's just so much more elegant to have this control from a B&O remote.

I agree - the beo6 had great potential which was never fully realised.

I think part of the problem was that it is a product that was excellent if configured well, but many dealers lacked either the skills or the incentive to spend as much time as is needed to configure it properly.

So true. I think also that since only a small part of B&O users had a BeoSound 5, most users were never able to appreciate the elegant 2-way music search and cover art features. To anyone other than those with a BeoSound 5 or BeoLiving home control needs, the Beo4 just seemed sufficient.

Also, I see in the specs that the BeoSound 35 display is greyscale only rather than the red used for the BeoLab 3500.

I'd imagine that it uses the same style / tech as the display in the BeoRemote One. The 3500 had the red dot matrix display similar to the one in the Beosound 9000.

I'm wonderinf if this could be used as center speaker (i.e replacing beolab 10)

There's no powerlink input, it does have both optical and RCA (although the specs don't show whether this is L+R analogue RCA input, or coaxial digital input).

Just love the design! Modern yet has its roots in the old Penta. Big Smile

But the biggest problem is just where to put it in the apartment...

I was expecting the replacement of the BeoSound 3500 to be able to serve as a center speaker, too. This seems like a costly solution for a center channel speaker, though. B&O does need to replace the center channel speakers that have been removed from the portfolio. Not all of us want to use a speaker that is built into the screen -- especially when we have a home theater with a projector.

Yes, this was what I was expecting too. I'm beginning to wonder whether the Beoplay S range product that was rumoured is actually a separate product - maybe there is more yet to be announced?

And back to a B&O product where the back looks as good as the front. (I've just watched the YouTube promo )This is worthy of 360 degrees of viewing.
