Is anyone having issues with the Beoworld iPad App.
For some reason it will not let me "reply" to threads, I also see a "mirrored" scroll bar to the left i.e. you go down the menu scroll bar and it repeats itself, there are no threads in "my discussion" and I'm unable to check if I am logged in ?
I still have not discounted user error but can someone put be back into a sane area please and let me know if theirs is ok

I have been having problems for about one or two weeks.
One reason I have been less visible.
In my case the issue is that I can not sign in .... so I am getting only the browse mode: so replies, no pictures also, and no knowledge of what I have seen or done.
I suspect that may be your problem.
It occurs on both my iPhone and WMBO's iPad.
But not the Mac that I am using this minute.
When you start the App you briefly see the ACCOUNT tag on the top right.
If you are quick enough to hit that you can see your saved user name and redacted password.
You can even save them.
But it has no effect.
I had thought perhaps I had missed my renewal ... but I checked my inbox, and my settings, and I still am safe !
So my thought is that something has changed.
I don't believe it is iOS on the iPhone or the iPad as I think the problem showed up on both simultaneously, and SWMBO's updates tend to lag.
So I think it may have been the Beoworld server code.
However I did not see a news flash from Keith to that effect.
So unfortunately I think we are stuc until something else changes or until Philippe sees this post.
BeoNut since '75
PS I have sent Philippe a message - so cross fingers !
Me too impossible to post from the BeoWorld App which I use only !
It don't work since One week. I post from this message from a computer

Philippe is a very busy man - and he developed the BeoWorld App in his own time, for free. We owe Philippe, and Keith Saunders (who does more technical work behind the scenes than you can imagine) a huge debt of gratitude. We simply wouldn't be able to pay for two men of their calibre out of our own BeoWorld pockets, and I'm humbled by the amount of work they put in compared to mine...
A week or two ago (Keith posted a thread on this) we upgraded to a whizz-popping level of internet security (remember we hold details of members) which is super-secure, gets a certificate, and cost us a lot of money to get. I myself had to go through rigorous personal checks, as did the company, and they were thorough in every aspect - but in the end we got the certificate and that gave us a 'green lock' which means we're very high up on web security.
Keith is working on the Forum being at the same level, which is second priority but important all the same.
As the site grows so does the need for proper security and programming - but as I've never once increased the membership costs in approaching ten years now, so it becomes a little more difficult - and we rely on the good will of our specialist members.

If the app isn't working - why don't you just use the browser? Isn't there a browser on an iPad??? I can use Beoworld on my phone, my tablet -and my computer. I can upload Pictures - i can edit from all devices. Maybe it's just because I do not use Apple devices...

The App is a tour de force and provides a far more productive / efficient way of keeping on top of all the posts, and for fancy formatting such URLs.
It's also easier to upload photos using the App.

Having spent time with all three of you in 2012 I am well aware of Philippe's skills - one reason I happily purchased LinkPlayer and have provided him lots of beta testing support.
I also salute the care you are taking to protect our personal and financial details. Day by day its more and more like the Wild West Web
Given that the breakage may have been caused by more rigorous security mechanisms I suspect it will be a non-trivial task for Philippe to fix it
So I guess we will all go back to using browsers

It won't necessarily be much more than updating some URLs of the login procedure to use HTTPS instead of HTTP.
But I believe there are some more related changes underway for the forum, so it may be time wasted to fix the app right now as it might break again.
