I could with a high level of enjoyment listen to my Beolab 5000 system a few days before I left for a place 1000 Km from home, I am now sitting in Torreon Mexico in a boring hotel room listening to music from a bad sounding HP with B&O sound, after listening to the BL/BM and BG 5000 pizzabox it is a terrible experience.

My nephew was supposed to bring my Beocord and BG 4002 from McAllen to Torreon but as it is with the helpful Mexicans no such luck, I will have to go there myself when I finish the job here

Collecting Vintage B&O is not a hobby, its a lifestyle.

Hi Søren

The sound from the HP laptops badged "Bang & Olufsen" is much better than from those badged "B&O", but I really don't feel that the sound quality produced by the B&O badged laptops is doing the brand any favours at all Sad

Of course neither will compare even remotely to what you are used to from your Beolab 5000 system.

I mentioned on another thread not too long ago that every time I work away and stay in a hotel room, I return home with a renewed appreciation for the sound quality of what I have there. Hotel televisions have an amazing ability to demonstrate just how good the sound of a BeoVision is (and/or just how bad they are in comparison!).

I hope the job you are working on goes well - I usually find that I look forward to the occasions I am to work away from home, but in reality I rarely have time to have a proper look around the place I am visiting, or if I do I am often too tired from travelling and long working days to really appreciate that opportunity.

Martin.

there are good solutions to avoid this problem while traveling:

- Beoplay A2
http://www.beoplay.com/products/beoplaya2

- Sony SRS-X33
http://www.sony.de/electronics/kabellose-lautsprecher/srs-x33?cpint=hot_1_SRS-X33

- Bose Soundlink mini
https://www.bose.com/products/speakers/wireless_speakers/soundlink_mini_ii.html#v=soundlink_mini_ii_carbon

The Beoplay A2 and the Sony do sound more balanced than the Bose which could be a little too bassy. The Bose and Sony are smaller than the Beoplay A2

And if the Hotel TV has a headphone output and you've got the right cables with you, you can actually enjoy the TV experience. :-)
