Hello,
I was looking the specifications of the BePplay S3 speaker and I noticed that on the BeoPlay website they mention 2 x 35W Class D Amplifiers Combined 240 watt peak power. I can remember that at the launch 2x30W Class D amplifiers combined 180W peak... Am I loosing my mind or have they been updated?
Could this explain the low prices offers that appeared soon after launch?
Interesting find, indeed!
how will people know, which version they have?
and will there be a difference soundwise, when you compare the two?
OI know comparing is different, but anyway.

Also notice the big difference in the low frequency capabilities!
BeoVision Eclipse 55, BeoPlay S8 (sub+rears), BeoPlay A9 MKII (living room), BeoVision Avant 32 DVD (retro gaming, basement), BeoLab 4000 (entertainment room, basement), BeoSound 8 (workshop), 2x BeoPlay S3 (PC), BeoPlay A1, BeoPlay H2/H3 (on the go)
Beoberg: Also notice the big difference in the low frequency capabilities!
Not necessarily. The first range is actually specified ( -3 dB) while the latter has no level reference - it's basically meaningless data.

The two may not be any different given one is quoted at -3dB and the other as "effective frequency range". The whole process of defining frequency range for a speaker / driver is fraught with difficulties.
Geoff's article here may offer some useful background reading in regard to this.
