Very sad loss. May he rest in peace.

a friend of my wife's shared on Facebook today the fact that her mother often used to sit next to Bowie on her train commute from Bromley to Victoria.

an incredible life force and one who embraced the internet like no other musician of the time. ... God rest to this shining star

we tend to forget there is more to design than designing.

Probably more influential than Lennon and many times the artist that Presley was. Truly one of the greats.

Watching the tribute on BBC2 at the moment... Through wattery eyes R.I.P. David  not only unique but courageous and so very intelligent and inspirational.

Whenever I walked thru SoHo, which is the Manhattan neighborhood just south of where I live, I would often deliberately walk past 285 Lafayette Street - Bowie's apartment building - in the hopes of catching a glimpse of him (as an aside, you would never imagine that Sir David lived there - very understated building).  I never saw him but one time I noticed the doorman standing outside and to put him on the spot I said to him "What's Mr. Bowie like".  His obviously rehearsed reply was something to the effect of "I wouldn't know - I've heard he lives over on Crosby Street".  Wink-wink nudge nudge  Wink

'Heard on the news that his music is pouring out of open doors and windows in SoHo.  It's below freezing here..

I was just reminded that my son is at the same school Bowie was at when he was his age in 1953.
