hi all,

I've recently bought a Masterlink Converter, aux link cable and Masterlink cable in order to connect a Beocenter 8500 in my study into a Beovision 6-26 in our bedroom.

I have connected the TV and i'm able to listen to some of the sources on the beocenter using the following button presses on the Beo 4

AV > CD

AV > Radio

AV > Tape

etc

My issue is that i am unable to listen to the airport express connected to the Tape 2 input on the Beocenter which was the main reason for puting the link system in place.

Can anyone suggest what i'm doing wrong?

I have 3 remotes - one Beo4 with AV button, one with DVD button and a Beolink 1000.

Beocenter 8500 / Beolab 4000 / Beosystem 5500 / Beolab 8000 / Beogram 2000 / Beosound 8 / Beovision 6-26 / Beovision MX4000 / Beomaster 1900-1 / Beovox CX50 / Beoplay H4 / Beoplay A1 / Beocom 1401 x2

Try AV>N.Music or AV>A.Tape2 on the Beo4

You may need to add to the list.

AV> Shift>Tape might work on the Beolink 1000. How do you plan to control the airport express? I have a Beoport which attaches to my computer and I can control my music fine. My system is a hybrid Masterlink/MCL system.

Hi Peter thanks for your assistance, it is much appreciated.

After a bit of playing about with things i've managed to get the system to work (ish).

I had to set the TV to Option 2 and now simply pressing N.Music/CD/Radio etc is enough to get the sound through from my Beocenter onto the tv speakers and i don't need to use the AV button at all.

One strange thing i've noticed though - if i have the TV on watching a programme and then decide to listen to music when i press N.Music the screen goes dark (though it's still on) and after a minute while the music is still playing the LCD goes off completely and the stand rotates back to the present off position. I can probably live with this but i'm sure there is another setting that might help?

If the TV is off to begin with then the stand rotates to the correct position and stays that way so there is a way around the problem if there is no proper fix.

Also, before i changed the TV option i would get visual feedback of the source from the link room e.g the screen would show CD and the track number and now i don't get this.

I think to keep the picture and listen to an audio source you need to press AV first and then the audio source - in Option 2 the TV assumes you want an audio source only when you press CD or Radio for example.
