Hi all..

What is the speaker protection potentiometer on the MCL2A used for, and what should it be set to ?

I have attached a set of 2 CX100 to a newly aquired MCL2A, but the setting is set to the lowest setting (20w) if I remember..

Cannot seem to find information other than "it should be set correct according to speakers" :)

Thanks

From the manual:

The adjustment should be to the 'rated power handling capacity of the speakers.  If the volume is increased beyond the set value, an electronic circuit will automatically switch off the speakers in that room only.'

You can therefore also use to control max permissible volume, eg in a teenagers room!
