My Pure DAB radio gives excellent service. As I posted in another thread it picks up stations with its telescopic aerial in rooms where my BC2, with proper DAB aerial, cannot receive anything!

The Roberts Vintage range is pretty incredible Chris if you like retro. I love them. Solid performers plus one even has Bluetooth. When I worked in Brighton, they were everywhere. Timeless and stylish and chic :)
PS I too have a PURE since 2003 and it still works - not had much use since I got my first iPhone a few years back though as strictly app listening now :)

We've got a one of the Roberts 'revival' range (the ones with the retro padded vinyl enclosures) and it works very well. I use it in my workshop - it's currently hooked up to one of my bench power supplies as I don't have the original power adaptor (it will also run off a set of D cell batteries).
It was actually an "anonymous gift" which is why I don't have the original power supply - I came home one day to find it perched on the top of the low wall at the front of our house, I moved it further along the wall, away from the public pavement and closer to the house, to avoid it being 'stolen' by the next person to walk by, and there it stayed, unclaimed, for three days (much to my surprise!). So after checking with our neighbours and the local police, it has now found itself a new home in my workshop
Martin.
In the kitchen we've got a Roberts DAB which is all plasticky and horrible as it predates the retro models. Upstairs a Beocenter 6 with DAB which is proper B&O quality but a bit bigger. The Roberts was tried with batteries at first but used them very rapidly.

I have the non DAB version of the Grundig (with wood cover), and enjoy it every day !
Try googling this : grundig tr2200dab+wd
Use a Pure Evoke 2 in the kitchen - had for years - attached to mains - nice tone and completely reliable - has another Pure - the white one that was mono and more upright - broke rapidly. My BC2 is reliable and sounds good with DAB.

I too enjoy DAB so know where you are coming from, my two units are and can recommend both:
Ok neither have B&O sound quality but both are nice designs and quality built, the Ruark definitely has the upper hand being more modern, ergonomically designed controls and a small footprint.
If you haven't already have a look at What Hi-Fi's DAB radio review...
we tend to forget there is more to design than designing.
Get the oneremote dk DAB unit and keep your B&O control
Oh yes, well done Mark, I forgot about the Ruark R1. Chris this would very much impress you for its sound quality and design from a small British company.
Hi all,
Although this is an older thread, I thought I'd share what i found when looking for a new kitchen unit.
I think most wil agree that the specs and functions of the Grundig Sonoclock 895 WEB DAB+ is well beyond "decent".10 DAB+ channels, 10 FM channels, 10 Internet radio stations, AUX input, USB-stick input that plays MP3, WMA, FLAC, WAV und AAC and Spotify should satisfy most.
All the best,Henrik B.

Amazon Echo - voice operated and BBC now go direct rather than though Tune In. Completely brilliant.
