Hi,

I own Beolab 18 since one year and I still love them. Used in combination with Beolab Transmitter connected to Essence MKII and with SPDIF to a HTPC..

I was missing bass sometimes but not so much so I decided buying a Beolab 19. In place since yesterday and I don't know what to think... If I turn up the volume very high, I feel it and it's nice (but not so much present) But at lower volume, my daughter's Beolit 15 is better !

And worst : the setup sounded better at low volume before adding the sub !

Did you experience this already ? I tried different places, different settings on the 19's but nothing changed.

Beolab 1, Beovision 7-32, Beosound Moment, Beolab 18, Beolab 19, Beoplay A6 Grey, Beoplay A6 Black, Beolit 15, Beoplay H7, Beosound Essence mkII waiting for speakers :)

Did you set the SUB - 2.1 switch on the Transmitter to on?

And how did you set the LP Filter ?

Instructions from the user guide:

LP FILTER (low pass filter): Aligns the frequency areas in BeoLab 19 and the speakers. When the switch is set to ON, the knob can be turned to obtain lower or higher frequency. When BeoLab 19 is connected to a surround sound system, there is no need to adjust the LP filter. When BeoLab 19 is connected to a Bang & Olufsen audio system, the LP filter should be switched on and adjusted to a position between 40 and 80 which suits most Bang & Olufsen Power Link speakers. Generally, the setting of the LP FILTER is dependent on the size of the main speakers. This means that a larger speaker requires a lower setting, whereas a smaller speaker requires a higher setting. When you connect BeoLab 19 to non-Bang & Olufsen products, you should listen to music from the subwoofer and loudspeakers to determine if the LP FILTER should be adjusted.

Hi!

I have the same speaker setup, two beolab 18s and a 19, playing over WiSA from a Moment. I also first bought the two 18s, then missed the bass from my old Dali Helicon 400s, and added a 19 to the setup. My experience was completely opposite from yours. Adding the 19 gave me a feeling of coming home again to my music, and the setup sounded just perfect at all volumes with low, effortless, tight and precise bass. I definately don't think it is supposed to sound the way you describe it.

I'm away from home for a week, so I can't at the moment check the settings on my 19. I will when I get home though, If you haven't already figured it out by then, as I hope you will. However, I do seem to remember reading something about the WiSA-system. Apparently the system makes sure all the components in the system are informed about the specs and abilities of every other component in the system. Therefore, when you add a 19 to an 18-setup, the 18s will also dynamically adjust their frequency range, not having to struggle with the deep bass themselves anymore, and focus on the higher frequencies. As a result, you don't only add the bass of the 19, but the midrange and treble from the 18s should also sound better. I write this now from something I vaguely remember reading about. Is anyone able to confirm it?

Anyway, my point was that if this is so, there might be something that went wrong in the setup with the added 19, and it might be an idea to disassociate your 18s as well from the transmitter1 and start a fresh setup process that involves all three speakers.

Best of luck!

-h.

Yes the 2.1 option is on, thats why there is no more bass from the 18s. I think this is linked with using the essence as there is more options on tv and moment I think and a better bass management system. The setup was sounding perfect with my dealer.connected.to an avant.

Lp filter is off as this was what I understood when using bass management system. I will try turning it on and let you know.

For the configuration, I made it from scratch, resetting the transmitter and all speakers when I first listened to the result :( No difference.
