I was curious if anyone has experienced their current generation Beolab speakers displaying the quickly flashing orange light (signifying an error), and instead of playing music, playing a horrid loud crackling sound.

Unfortunately, this has happened with my Beolab 20 / Essence setup a handful of times now just starting in the past week or so -- out of the blue. When it happens, the crackling sound is so loud it startles the cat and me as well!

I unplug everything, wait 5 min or so, and replug everything back again. 70% of the time this fixes whatever the issue was, other times, it doesn't. I've tried a process of elimination (ie. wired, wifi, surge protector, plug into the wall, etc) and the culprits have come down to either the Essence or the Beolab speakers themselves.

Unfortunately it is a holiday weekend here in the states, but it is disappointing that this setup which I have enjoyed so much since receiving it has begun to behave this way out of the blue.

I've already placed a call to my B&O dealer (as the maual says if it flashing orange keeps happening contact the dealer)  but as I said it is a holiday weekend here in the States. Until I hear back, everything is going to remain unplugged. Just curious if I was the only one who has had errors with the newer speakers, or if anyone has suggestions as to what it could be? Are the current speakers prone to interference?

Since both Beolabs have been showing errors simultaneously the likely culprit is the Essence, which may have a noise bleed on one of the components inside the Essence's chassis. I'm being sent a replacement to see if that remedies the problem. I'll definitely report back.
