Hello!
I have a BeoPlay S8 and a Denon AVR-X2100W receiver to use as my home theater setup.
The rear view of the receiver is the following:
The first issue was the cables included with S8... The RCA Jack Cable has 2 connections, while the receiver input has only one hole to connect it.
So, when I tried to use it with the RCA Jack Cable connected to "subwoofer 1" input of the receiver (leaving 1 of the connections of the RCA Jack Cable disconnected), and the speakers linked to the subwoofer, it was not working properly, as the satellites had no sound at all.
Then, I bought a Jack to the Jack Cable so it would be instead of 2 connections, only one connection to link to that "subwoofer 1" input, and I've got the same results.
I tried something different... I linked the speakers directly to "front R" and "front L" input on the receiver, and the sub I linked to the "subwoofer 1" using the jack to the RCA jack, and everything started to work.
The problem is that I reckon the sound of the satellites are not how it should be... They seem weaker to the sound I get when the satellites are linked to the sub...
Has anyone got any suggestions on how I should use the S8 with this receiver I have???
Thanks in advance...
The problem i see on the back of your receiver is that it doesn't have the left and right output like the zone 2 just subwoofer 1 and 2.
How the zone 2 outputs are is really what you need. As you would connect the satelite speakers directly to the s8 with the rj45 to RCA cable going from the s8 subwoofer with the left and right plug ends going into the left and right outputs on the pre out section of your receiver.
From there the denon would act as the volume source for the speakers as the s8 would sense the signal and turn on when you switch your receiver.

The first problem i see is that you may have brought a lower end receiver as the more expensive ones tend to have more pre out connections i see that you only have the left and right out for zone 2 and what looks like to subwoofer outputs.
How the zone 2 output looks is pretty much what it should look like where you have the subwoofer 1 and 2.
When connecting the s8 the speakers go directly into the s8 subwoofer with an rj45 to RCA left and right cable going into the left and right outputs on the denon. depending on where you will be placing the speakers and sub you may need to order a longer cable steve at sounds heavenly does them as i have a 5 meter one myself.
Once connected to the left and right out on the denon the receiver will act as the volume source for the speakers as when you switch the receiver on the s8 will sense the signal and turn on aswell.
You must make sure that you connect the speakers to the s8 subwoofer and not the av receiver.
So, you reckon I should connect the S8 RJ45 to RCA cable straight into that ZONE 2 pre out Left and Right while the satellites are linked directly to the S8 sub?
It's important to mention I bought the S8 soon enough so I didn't get mine with that Connection Hub... Would it help me anyway? Maybe I'll buy the connection hub...
Thank you for the help.
During my research on how to solve my problems, I found the following picture:
A cable similiar to this one could nail my issue?
Where I can find cable like this one, but only with the subwoofer connection plus two pairs of wires to link to Front Left & Right?
I want to do something like this:
I took this image from this site (http://www.echo14.com/wp-content/uploads/AudioVideo-Receiver-connected-to-BeoLab-141.pdf) and it express what I'd like to do. I've put those red "X" just to illustrate the difference that would have in comparisson to the beolab 14 system when connected to a receiver.
The thing is, I don't have a similar cable to that D-Sub, and I can't find it online so I could buy one...
Suggestions are welcome.
Apologies for the late reply as when i first originally replied it didn't show on the forum hence the second similiar post from myself.
The cable im taking about looks like this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RJ45-PowerLink-to-Non-Bang-Olufsen-B-O-Stereo-Amplifier-Cable-1-Mtr-/131543645696
If you buy it in the 5 meter length it gives you the option to place the sub in different locations, the rj45 plug goes into the sub with the red and black left and right plugs going into the left and right outputs on the denon.
@GustavoGomes
The cable, that you found, is part of the BL14-4/5 version of the S8.
Whether that could be used with the S8 or not is unclear.
It seems, that there are different versions of the S8 and noone has yet found a way to identify these.
Best thing you can do is to buy/borrow the cable from a B&O dealer and try it out.

There is a tv - and there is a BV
The cable i have suggested can be used on the s8, the s8 really isn't that different from the beolab 14 and if i was purchasing the s8 i would hook them up in exactly the same way im suggesting.
You know what like millemissen said best to borrow a cable from your dealer if your unsure. I myself have owned the beolab 14 2.1 and hooked them up to not only a bluetooth recevier with my phone acting as the volume source but also to a loewe tv which had dolby and dts decoders built in and i hooked up the speakers to the tv via the pre outs on the tv.
I used the exact same cable i showed in the link in 5 meter length and just set the sub to the line setting with the rj45 plug going into the sub with the speakers also going into the sub and the left and right plugs going into the pre out sockets on the loewe, from there the tv acted as the source of volume after setting the frequencies and distances etc.
Hooking up the s8 to me is a piece of cake maybe because there really is different ways of connecting them to different sources.
