Can Essence be configured to default use the BeoVision connected BeoLab speakers?

If I connect an Essence to my network and I do not connect speakers to this Essence, can the Essence then be configured such that it default uses via NL the BeoLab speakers connected to the BeoVision Avant?

I have read in the Moment user manual ("You can use BeoSound Moment with both wired and wireless speakers or integrate it with your Network Link TV. ") that with the Moment this is possible. It will see via NL the BeoLab's connected to the BeoVision and these speakers can then be selected as default output device.

Can this also be done with the Essence?

Hi Flere,

I mistakenly believed this was possible until recently, but MM is correct - the Moment can be configured to do this but unfortunately the Essence cannot.

It's a shame as it would be a nice feature and maybe it will be added in the future but I wont be holding my breath.

There is an update to the BeoSound Essence SW (v.1.4.311) that now supports this setup of integrating an Essence with a BeoVision TV, in such a way that the speakers are on the TV (not the Essence)

The Essence is checking for an automatic update every night...

But also if you go in the BeoSetup App you should be able to see that there is an update available, to manually push for the update now.

You cant see that?

By the way, we are talking about Essence 2nd. generation, in this context

I am thinking of buying An Essence to connect to my V1, and the Beolab 9's connected to the V1.

However, I understand that you cannot use Spotify in this setup. Is there a workaround as I am using spotify a lot.

Or should I switch to Deezer?

....or you could use a Gramofon or a Google Cast Audio device connected to the line-in of the Essence in order to get Spotify Connect on your system.

No integration, though - but a reasonable 'workaround'.

Another would be to connect a Playmaker (another AirPlay receiver) to the line-in of the Essence.

Or use the AppleTV box or an AirPort Express connected directly to the V1.
