Hello
My partner recently got me a Beogram 1000, without a built in pre-amp. I took it to be serviced and checked and it came back fine, they stated they had retightened the belt etc. I do not know much about this sort of thing (which is why I got it serviced) however when using this turntable (I am using a preamp) the speeds are just not right.
I have set up a stop watch and counted the revolutions in a minute and the 33 actually does about 29/30 and the 45 does about 40-42 per minute. Its very noticeable on playback and I have left the machine running for 30 minutes to see if speeds improve.
Does anyone know what is causing this and how it can be fixed?
Thank You.
Back left corner has the speedselector inside the selector is a small knob (see description) And the belt cant be retightened

Thank you for a prompt response.
If this is the external speed selecter, with the fine adjustment bit at the top, then I should have mentioneded that adjusting this makes no difference. Obviously changing the speed from 33 to 47 works, but the small twisting bit at the top makes no difference to speed.
Is there something I can do inside adjust the speed?
The fine speed adjustment shaft is connected with a string and a resort if it is broken or not there the speed adjust wont work
When I look inside there does not seem to be any sting or wire connecting. Can this be easily fixed, or can I adjust it manually by hand?
You will have to get the motor/drive assembly out to get at it, take a look at this thread
here the drive assembly seen from the top
Beogram 1000 was produced with a couple of different motors, they also vary in this aspect.
