Yes, Google Cast is coming to some Beoplay products. Nothing around Google TV and B&O

Nothing new in sight that I know of, either.

I guess we will have to be patient, very patient.

"Over 2016,  xxxx and Bang & Olufsen will be releasing televisions and set top boxes running Android TV." Maybe the first one will be in a BV11 style 4KUHD model!

Will HDR really make much difference? I ask because last evening, we streamed TWO mountain biking and skiing 4k films from VIMEO VOD - unReal and Fade to Winter. These were streamed in 4K using a Amazon Fire TV box on a SONY 55" 4K TV using a basic 75meg fibre optic broadband. All I can say is, I've never seen such incredible picture quality in my entire life from a broadcast/TV.  How can HDR improve on that?   Simply incredible and that was with a compressed Internet file (9GB for a 1 hour film (2GB in 1080p)  and a 7.5GB 45minute film (1.5GB in 1080p).

The new "V1" will be shown to dealers in March and hopefully released for sale in April.

WOW! That's pretty cool news Roger!

LET THE SPECULATION BEGIN...

What will it look like?

Will it have tiny bezels?

Will it look similar to a BV11?

Will it be 4K with HDR?

What colours will it come in? And sizes?

Will it be a class leader? Probably not as surely OLED wins here!

Will it be the first B&O TV with the Android platform?

Will it be small enough for you Paul?

i can't wait to see it. I hope they haven't lost their Design nerve.

will it be more plug and play than before?

Hi Simon,

I'm sure it will. I can go up to 40" for a screen. Whilst large screens make me go pale, it kind of makes sense as I watch documentaries on surfing, skiing, skateboarding and cycling - all bought in 4K from Vimeo.

I'm happy with plug and play as i'll attach a 4K streaming box to it and my cherished VHS :) :) :)

A new BeoRemote One 'Bluetooth' will be introduced as well, the current version only has IR. This remote could be part of the new television or to be able to control multiroom devices.

After June 15th the manual and photo's of FCC listing will be released. This will likely be the timeframe in with we will see new products...or at least an updated BeoRemote One.

@MJ

A BR One/Bluetooth - that sounds interesting :-)

Sorry - but I'll have to ask - what is 'FFC listing'?

It is a legally mandated regulatory filing to market a product in the US. All companies are required to do this in the USA. I don't know the intricacies, but generally speaking, they clue the public to what may be coming down the road.

Here is an example, but is more complete since it has been so long.

Thanks Sal.

'They clue the public' - who has/can have access to these informations? Anyone?

How long before a product is officially launched, will these informations be 'public'?

Does this mean, that B&O generally can not 'hide' the coming products to us?

P.S. Never heard of anything like that in the EU!

That's correct Sal. You usually see an application for future products way before it is even announced. Last year this was the case with many Beoplay products like Beolit 15, A2, S3. The downside is that normally only the product label en test specifications are released to public. The test setup (actual photo's of the product), manual and technical drawings are kept confidential until a date after release.

However sometimes documents are released too early... with the S3 the manual was already available and the test photo's of the A2 were release before it was even announced. B&O uses different manufacturer names for their applications.  Just search the internet well...

That would have to be called a BeoRemote Two - I guess ;-))
