Hi everyone
At the moment my Setup looks like this:
Chromecast Audio --- minijack to DIN --- Beolab 11 and then to the Beolab 3
The Beolab 11 is set on line in, but won't go into standby. The reason seems to be, that the signal from the Chromecast is not "quiet" enough. And the Beolabs are quite loud...
My idea of a solution:
1 x Google Chromecast for Audio --- toslink cable --- Audioengine D1 --- RCA to Powerlink--- Beolab 11
Do you think, that the Beolab 11 will turn to Standby?
Is the Audioengine D1 a good choice or would you recommend me another DAC in this price region.
Or should I even try a different solution?
Thanks, I really appreciate any answers.
Hmm could it be, that it's just the minijack to DIN cable? Might it be better with one of the cables from Sounds Heavenly?
Hi,
Sorry for the late reply to this old thread!
Yes, the 5 pin cable is likely to be the cause of the problem, as the Beolab 11 will pick up electrical noise that will prevent it from switching off if the extra grounding wire on pin 7 is not connected in the DIN plug. Using this minijack to 7 pin cable directly from the Google Cast to the Beolab 11 should resolve the issue for you, so that the speaker turn off 3 minutes after the music stops:-
