Happy that we finally have a multiroom music solution without wires.

I'm looking to be able to listen to Deezer in the living room, kitchen, and a bedroom.

So far all I have is a BV7-40 attached to a pair of 8002's in the living room, so was planning on getting an A6 for the kitchen and another for the bedroom (would be ideal if they made something smaller but I guess that might come in the near future). The question I'm looking for opinions on is what do do in the living room?

I could go with the Beolink converter and use the BV7/8002s for sound in the living room or just get another A6 for the living room. Option two seems like a bit of a waste, but then I'm not sure how expensive and reliable the Beolink converter is.

Any experiences and opinions would really be welcome. Cheers!

The BLC (Beolink NL/ML Converter) will be the bridge between Masterlink and new Beolink concept.

You will be able to take the source (e.g. Deezer) from the A6 and play that in your living room using your exiting TV and speakers. So no need for an additional A6 there. By the Beomusic app you will be able to control the music in all rooms where you have e.g A6.

The BLC is very reliable I must say. Some work to configure it correctly, but this forum holds a lot of expertise in this field :)

Think the price is around 675 Eur for the BLC.

How do you connect the different products to the main source (A6 in the bedroom, another A6 in the kitchen, Essence in the dressing for instance,...) ?

Wi-Fi, powerline,... ?

Example : like k984942, i have a BV10-40 from 2010 in the lounge, and a BS5 in the dining room. I would like to have the sound of the BS5 in my bedroom (A6) and in my dressing (Essence with BL4).

Can't link all the products with wires. What is the solution ?

Thanks for the quick response! I trust I will also be able to listen to a program on my BV7 on my A6's?

A6 can be connected over the Wifi. The Masterlink products need to be connected by Masterlink wire to the BLC. The BLC need ethernet wire to your router.

This is the way I have done my setup (used power line adapters):

In your case you connect your BV10 with Masterlink to the NL/ML (or BLC as its sometimes called)

Your Essence must be Mk II or else it will not be capable of interworking with the Beolink.

No problem Smile

As I mentioned in one of the posts above is that the magic lies in how the BLC is configured. Cudos to B&O to enable the legacy Masterlink system integrate to the new in such a clever way.

Ah...the BLC needs Ethernet, that's going to be a problem! Does it not work over wifi?

It does not. But I guess you have a broadband router somewhere? You can access the router over Powerline adapters like I have done.

Thanks a lot Hiort! Really appreciate your advice.

I'm actually lacking power sockets where the BV7/8002s are so the powerline would have to go into a 10 way socket extension thingy. Would still work well enough do you think?

From a cost perspective, it seems like there won't be too much difference between the BLC + powerline + a masterlink cable solution vs an A6. What I'm wondering is which will give the superior sound? I somehow assume the 8002's (could even include the BL 7-2 I guess) but perhaps I'm wrong here.

Thanks

Will probably work, but its not ideal since you will loose a lot of the bandwith. The general recommendation is to avoid extensions. You can always try, and see what bandwith you will get.

I would not compare the A6 to a setup with 8002:s. 8002s are of course superior.

Thanks

if you would choose the Beoplay A6, you will come to a point when you also want to integrate your BV7+speakers.

thus - a NL/ML converter.

If it was my choice I would opt for the NL/ML converter................... just because the integration of it all (Beolink multiroom)

NB: the Beoplay A6 sounds astonishing, but the BL8002 + 7.2 will sound better
