Hi,

how can I identify if the charger of a Beocom 6000 is for the MK1 or MK2 version?

I want to buy a table charger with the following data:

TD 318932
Item no: 1062929
Serial no.: 1983....

Is this MK1 or MK2? Is there a list to identify those things?

I have one with exactly the same numbers and use it with a Mk1 BC6000.  It has an EU 2-pin plug.

And I have another downstairs with the number 1040929 which is also for Mk1, but has a UK plug.

Thank you for your help!

Is there a list or s.th. where we can check globally if it's MK1 or MK2?

It's pretty straightforward to identify a Mk1 and a Mk2 BeoCom 6000 Charger.  It's all on the contact points!

On the Mk1, the contact points are perfectly round - like so....

On the Mk2, however, the charging points are larger - more or a round ended rectangle, like so....

The phones match the charging pins - so the charger contacts on a Mk2 handset are the same size as the charging recesses on a Mk2 handset (being larger).  This is the sole reason you cannot sit a Mk2 handset on a Mk1 charger... the larger contacts on the Mk2 handset are simply too big for the small, round charging recesses on the Mk1 charger.

Conversely though, you CAN charge a Mk1 handset on a Mk2 base as the small, round contacts fit easily into the larger 'round ended rectangle' recesses on the Mk2 base.

Make sense?!  LOL

I am sure that's useful Lee, but did you delete my other post with the link to beophile?  I thought that was useful also!
