I see what looks like at least 1 scorched resistor in photos 3 and 5. The gray load current resistor on what looks like the right channel.

Thank you for pointing the resistors out.
This Beomaster 1600 has had a hard and unfortunate life. My friend who sent them to me (the Beomaster 1600 and Beomaster 2400.2) described them as “anchors.” That was perhaps unkind, but from their exterior condition, the comment was warranted.
I got lucky with the 2400.2, but it was the 1600 that I really wanted.
If I thought that replacing 4 resistors would bring this 1600 back I’d do that in a heartbeat.
However I feel (please correct me guys if I am wrong) that the 4 resistors are just the beginning of what needs to be checked and replaced. That, I fear, would exceed by limited abilities.
So this is probably a project for the future as I am saving up for my obsession B&O system. At least we know the FM section works and works well.
If you guys have anything else to suggest I try, do so and I will give it my best.
