i have been considering replaicng my BV7-55. Yesterday I saw the new LG Signature 65 inch OLED. It is amazing. (Will be going back to dealer in couple of weeks as received invitation to Beolab 90 demo)
Could, and how would, I use the BS 4 with the LG? Would the BS 4 turn it on and off? Could I bypass the LG's built in speakers?
Basically I want to use my B and O speakers, have B and O control and connectivity with rest of my B and O.
Thanks.

It should work without any problems. I am using a Beosystem 4 with an Epson beamer. All I have connected to the Epson (which in your case would be e LG) is the Beosystem 4 via HDMI. Everything else (speakers, BluRay, Sky, PS4, AppleTV, Sonos) is connected to the Beosystem 4.
I am not sure though, if you can use the Beoremote to use the LG TV. I am using the Epson remote to start the Beamer, my dealer told me, it would be too costly / complex to integrate my beamer with the Beoremote. Might be different though with the LG TV.
Thanks! I was hoping there was some way the BS4 could trigger the LG on and off.
It should be possible - using an ir-blaster - to turn the tv on/off and to the right input.
However, you should know, that you will use the tv merely as a monitor.
There is no way to get sound from the internal sources (of the tv) and to control these.
All (!) connections have to be made to the BSys4.

There is a tv - and there is a BV
Take a copy of this to your dealer

Thanks! That is exactly what I was thinking was possible and am interested in doing. I have looked at the Beoietegration document many times but did not think to look at it for this issue.
I will have to give this option some more thought.
Millemissen: There is no way to get sound from the internal sources (of the tv) and to control these.
If the TV has Audio out you could get the sound from the tv to the Beosystem.I used this with a Beosystem 3 when the TV was in its own TV mode... (sure had to use lintronic (better than the Sony remote ;-)) to switch from HDMI input on TV to the TV itself - was used for the TV apps).
Might be possible with Beosystem 4 as well (I have not seen it yet or read the manual...).Ralf

The LG OLED is the best looking TV/monitor out there right now. Stunning picture!
Does Beosystem 4 support 4k/UHD? I didn't think so... If not, can we expect a SW upgrade or HW revision which will remedy this?
Thanks!

Have set up my Beosystem 4 today.
Very disappointing that it can not turn the Sony TV on/off.
I thought there where more PUC codes available via download.
There is a Programm called PUCtool3 that was mentioned in a Beointegration document, but I cannot find it online. Is this for dealers only?
Right now using my lintronic box just for on/off as I did with the Beosystem 3 before.Would be happy to have a better - direct PUC - solution....
Are there members driving non B&O TV as displays with a Beoystem 4?How did you manage the on/off ffunctions?
Ralf
unlikely....dont think a SW update is possible, and a BS5 looks unlikely.........
The issue with the BS4 and a 4K TV is that any 4K sources connected to the BS4 won't pass through it to the LG i think.....for example, you can connect a 4K Amazon Fire box to the BS4, and while it will work and show up as a source on your LG, the Netflix and Amazon Prime services will think your tv is Fun HD only, so it won't offer you any of the 4K content...........
this may not be an issue, if you want to bypass the BS4 and connect such external 4K boxes to the LG.....i mention this only because i'm not sure using the LG native Netflix / Prime apps will give audio, as MM / BeoIntegration describe.......
When you set up a non-B&O tv with the BSys, the tv will merely act as a screen/a display, so no 4K etc possible there!
It is also not possible to route the sound from the sources of the non-B&O tv (such as tuner or apps) back to the BSys.
The BSys does not support ARC over HDMI - and why should it?
It is supposed to/made to be the source center/the hub for everything that you can watch on a display (and listen to through the connected speakers) from the internal or connected/puc-controlled external sources.
P.S. Sure you could use the digital-out of the tv to get sound to the BSys - but you would have problems to control this - and probably the sound would not be in sync either.

I’m thinking of using the above adaptor to get the audio back from my LG OLED65 to the Beosystem 4 and use the digital-in on the Beosystem 4. Not sure what input it would be on the Beosystem 4, though it would possibly be A.AUX/Camera/PC
I actually just purchased a 75" 4K Samsung TV to be installed Monday. I used the trusty method of compatibility that I've used for years: I took the remote for the old Samsung TV (of which I know that the BeoSystem 4 PUC can control) to the store and made sure that the remote would turn the TV on/off.
I bought the Sony UBP-X700 UHD player and have BeoCare working on getting me the PUC. This player has dual HDMI outputs so that I can send the video directly to a TV input and the audio to the BeoSystem 4.
For the Apple TV 4K, I will need to get an HDMI splitter from HDFury. I'm not concerned about the menu overlay since I never need it for the Apple TV.
Everything else (such as the Cable TV) runs through the Atlona matrix.
I have an XML for Samsung TVs loaded unto my Beo6 so that I can change TV inputs as needed. Otherwise, I use the BeoRemote One. The Beo6 also has XML files loaded to control the Samsung projector and the projector screen as needed. However, I have made a custom cable to use the open collectors of the BeoSystem 4 to automatically control the projector and screen for Cinema On/Off.
Well i’m Having no luck in getting a LG PUC - and it’s a bit irrelevant anyhow as I’m controlling via hDMI CEC.
I’m having some overscan on the TV, but can’t find the service manual for the Beosystem 4 to find the service menu to make changes. Any idea?

I don't have the service manual, but I do have some more technical manuals regarding the BeoSystem 4 with information about the pinouts that someone as technically inclined as you might find of interest. PM me if you'd like me to send them to you.
I am even poor than you. My SONY 75 Z9F don't have HDMI CEC function, just only Bravia Syn. Unfortunately, Beosystem 4 of course don't support. So I have to use SONY TV controller open TV than use Beoremote one ................ Anyone have PUC for SONY TV? thanks

Got a new Sony KD-85XH9096 this weekend and connected it to the Beosysytem 4.
To use the internal apps (Netflix 4K, Amazon Prime 4K etc.) i ran the digital audio out (Toslink) via converter into the SP/DIF input of the Beosystem 4.
TV button on Beo 4 is configured to HDMI 5 (as a dummy) using the SP/DIF input.
This way I can use the Sony Apps with the Beosystem 4.
Sound (volume) via Beo 4, no overlay though.
Now with Lintronic you can even just use the Beo 4 remote to control everything (did not have the time to set this up)
Some photos (in German) to show what I have configured.
Have a nice sunday,
