I have recently had a new set of RCA plug wires (Replacing the Din plug) installed and they also replaced the belts at the same time. It seems like the platter belt is too large and the smaller belt is too small. Are there any places one can buy the correct size belts? Thanks for any help you can offer.

I would suggest you search for your turntable on e-bay. There are usually several people advertising belts. The belt length is 35.1" for a 4004 and 34.0" for a 4002.
The platter belt for the Beogram 4000, 4002 and 4004 is B&O part number 2732018. The same belt for the whole 400x turntable series. Since the original belt is no longer available you have to find a suitable substitute. There are a number of options and the belts in that 35" range can work. However, the tension and material are important if you are trying to restore the Beogram to full operation again. Martin (Dillen) has done the most research and work on finding accurate replacement belts for various Beograms and Beocords. I would definitely contact him for the replacement belt. If the Beogram is original then it is also due for a motor restoration (bearings re-infused with oil) and the speed circuit needs to be recalibrated (trim pots adjusted). For me, these turntables are at the age where really, a full restoration is in order. Otherwise you will be using the Beogram in a compromised state that isn't a good representative of how good these turntables can perform.-sonavor

I'm getting curious...I too have seen lots of Ebay sellers and lots of links to websites listing "belts for B&O".From the messages I find almost daily in my inbox and from the number of repair requests I receivefrom buyers of these belts (that didn't quite fit but in the best of cases didn't cause damage tobearings etc.) I am beginning to wonder...It seems that some websites simply copy info from other websites without knowing, testing, caring.I've seen:- Very (!) different belts listed for Beocord 2000 and 3300 (which uses the same mech.) .- More than one (quite different) belt listed for Beogram 5000 (of which only one model exists).- More than one website listing belts for Beogram 1204 - can't be selling many of them since there never was a model with that name.- Lots and lots of wrong sizes listed.
All this on more than one website.
Where does all this wrong info come from ?Jack, would you mind telling us, where you got the (wrong) info, you posted here ?Martin
