Hi,

I recently upgraded from a BV10 to a Avant, and I must say it's a superb TV. At the same time I picked up a Essence, and one problem I have is that I can't send sound from the TV to the Essence. The other way works great, so I can have the sound from the Essence play on the TV. When I select the BV in the Beomusic app there isn't a "+" sign to indicate that I can send the signal. Can anyone confirm if this should be possible or not?

Regards,

Jan

Hi Jan,

yes, this is the default behavior on a brand new TV. If you need this use case (distributing TV sources sound) you can enable in the TV menus, by going to "SETUP" - "PRODUCT INTEGRATION" - "SOUND FROM VIDEO SOURCES" and set to "ON".

The reason that this if to OFF by default, is that with the default settings you will hear an echo (between the TV and the Essence), if the products on the WiFi (not Ethernet), as on WiFi the products need quite some "buffering" to ensure that multiroom synchronization works even with average home WiFi networks. You can also "get rid" of the delay with some other settings, but for that you need to make sure that you have a quite stable WiFi network, before changing those default values.

Typically your Bang & Olufsen installer would guarantee the network setup at your home, and  enable those, once he can guarantee that you can have the best possible experience.

I hope this helps

Thank you very much. I had the TV installed by my dealer but they didn't mention this. I have located the setting and will try this.

@Jan

Any chance that you can hardwire both products (instead og going wireless)?

Might solve the problem.
