Hi everyone,

I'm happy that BM5 working again but there is still room to improve ...

Has anyone got any idea how to play internet radio through BM5 as most radio stations don't work on it ???

Tune in radio would be best for it......

Can I connect my phone to BM5 ?

Hi,

I cannot comment on missing radio stations as the ones I usually listen to are working.
If you have a specific one that is broken you might to send a request to B&O through the customer service.
You could also try to delete the radio database which will then be replaced for a fresh downloaded one.

As I cannot recommend connecting the "official" Line-In ->USB adapter due to poor sound quality there are two possibilities:

  • browse the internet for a program called shairport4win.exe and install it on your BM5 through the service menu. Afterwards you can activate the A.Aux source (this source is only visible if there is also a BS5 connected to your BM5) and use AirPlay to stream music from your iDevice to your BM5.
  • if you have an android phone -> get root access, install the exposed framework and download Bubble UPNP. This way you can transfer all system sounds including e.g. the audio from your TuneIn app to a DLNA renderer. The BM5/BS5 combo supports this without modifications.

I think you have to load beoplayer 5.04 (from the official site - and this can be a pain if you are operating WIN8-10), register BM5/BS5 as present and register to B&O. Once accepted, all the radio stations activate.

I think, you will have all radio stations from BS5 if you follow Mr10% suggestion. At least I have.....

On an unregistered BM5 there is not a single station. So I don't think a "re-registration" will help that much.

For deleting the database go to:

  • Service menu sequence: select SETTINGS but don't push GO -> RIGHT -> LEFT -> RIGHT -> LEFT -> GO
  • Maintenance -> delete database

Afterwards the BM5 reboots and all radio stations are gone (including any stored favorites).
Now it will start to download the latest database and the covers step-by-step.

As far as I remember the BS5 came with music, pics, websites and "demo" radio stations preloaded. But maybe it was only the Beoplayer...(?)

It`s been a long time ago when I bought my BS5. All I can say is, that all radio stations I use are working perfectly - and that`s what the op was complaining about:
