I have an upgrade chip from my MK II Beosound 9000. The service manual is pretty useless regarding mechanical disassembly to get to the chip. My first question is, how do I remove the dummy lid next to the lid over the control panel? Do I really have to remove the plastic plate that the glass door hinge attaches too?

Thanks, Gregg

With the controlpanel on the right, lift the left lid on the left side a bit. Then slide the lid to the left for 1,5 cm.

You have to remove the glassdoor also. After that, the complete plastic cover has to be removed. The EEprom isn't the software ic. These are 2 different IC's.

Thanks, that is what I needed. There are many other little tricks involved to get the plastic cover off. I successfully completed the operation. Now my BS9000 reads "N.RADIO" when I select that source with my Beo4. However, I have yet made the Beoport work with it. That will be a subject for a future question!
