Greetings!
I have been searching for hours now but couldn't find an answer so far.
My setup is as follows:BeoSound Moment connected via WISA to 2 Beolab 18 and one Beolab 19. This works perfect. Now I thought it would be quite cool to connect my non B&O TV to the BLs. Does anybody know whether it is possible to pair the BLs to the Transmitter 1 in addition to the BeoSound Moment? I assume this will not work as one always has to be the "master" for the BLs and in my case I would have 2 (TM1 and Moment). At least I couldn't get it working. Transmitter 1 (after resetting the BLs) works but then the BS Moment can't find the BLs anymore. After resetting the BLs again I could do a rescan on the BS Moment and add them again.
I also thought of connecting the BLs via Toslink to the TV but this will also not work because I have to switch from WISA to cable input signal and that's not how I want to use it.
I am happy to hear from others what alternative I can use in respect of connecting the TV to my setup.
Many thanks,
Stefan
Hi Stefan
I have almost the same set up as you. + 15 for rear surround - minus the moment.
Lets start with the Tv.
If you have a non B&O Tv you will have to get an a/v receicer like a Marantz 5010 and connect from the pre-amp out to the Transmitter 1.
That is the easy part.
You now have 2 choices for the moment:
1 connect the moment as a "source" to the A/v receiver - drawback you must turn on the receiver before using the moment.
2 connect the moment with a B&o cable (rj45 to RCA l/r) on the transmitter 1.
The transmitter one will prioritize the input from the moment over input from the receiver should you have both on at the same time.
I have researched this in detail and would have gone the moment to transmitter route, but I have the complication of running an additional zone from my receiver.
Good luck.

Hello,
Purchase the new BeoPlay Connection Hub + A BeoLab Transmitter 1.
Connect your television to the connection hub using an optical cable and connect the BeoSound Moment using an RJ45 PowerLink cable to the PowerLink Input.
Connect the BeoLab Transmitter 1 to the PowerLink Output and register the speakers.
Problem solved! You now have wireless speakers that will switch when you use each source. And what's even better is your television remote will control the volume of the speakers when watching the TV.
BeoSound MOment remains as it always has.
Wow, that was quick!
I love this forum and the helpfulness of the users. As I already own the Transmitter I think I will go for the Connection Hub. I like the concept of just pushing one button and then everything works as designed. No matter whether it's the BeoSound Moment or the remote control of the TV.
Thanks to both of you for your replies!
Keep it real simple and just run the line out from your TV (analog) to your Moment analog input. Then use either the Moment remote or get a BeoRemote One to control it. If you have some extra funds you could get the RCV3000 to the transmitter 1 and use your TV remote to control the transmitter 1 direct when using the TV. Once you run an optical or analog input.
Ah, you know... A little B&O here, a little there
Hi Tayne,
The issue in my case was that the TV remote was not able to control the sound volume.
I believe this problem was dependent on the TV make - in my case Samsung.
At the time I was told that if I had bought a Sony that problem did not exist.
However, that was before the Beoplay Connection hub.
What would you do if you wanted to have 5.1 surround sound from your non B&O TV ??
If you want 5.1 from a non-B&O tv, the only option is a pre-amp or Beosystem 4. The connection hub doesn't do anything but stereo/2.1.
Small tip for most tv's. If you disable volume control of tv speakers thenlatest samsung give an error. Optical always sends audio, so leave the internal speakers 'on' but use old earplugs and connect them to the tv. Match the volume control from 0 and the volume works fine with on-screen indication.

Indeed that's something I thought about. But what if the RCA cable is about 13m long. Wouldn't that downgrade the analog signal too much? I'm not an expert, just thinking about it.BTW ... I bought the Transmitter 1 second-hand and luckily the RCV3000 was included.
Hi Troikus,
My experience with B&O has been a bit of a journey and I found out that no sooner did I get something set up I found out that I did not go far enough.
That is precisely how I ended up with an A/V receiver when I wanted true 5.1 sound reproduction.
Net, net - it is important to know what the ultimate goal is - you may save yourself time and money in the process.

I wouldn't worry about the degraduation of signal coming from a 3rd party TV RCA output. It's most likely not top-notch to begin with to which the length of cable won't really matter. If you want the purest audio from your setup use optical. Otherwise connect the RCA and just enjoy it. You probably won't even know the difference in casual listening.
The fact is that Phono connections are transmitting the signal at LINE level. So there will be no audible quality loss. Just the same as using a longer length of PowerLink cable. It's the same signal, just using a different cable and connectors (to also support the amp trigger + data etc).
If you were running passive speaker cables, so i.e after the signal has been amplified, then MAYBE you would notice some sound quality loss. But it would still be marginal unless you went over a SERIOUSLY long length.
In summary, there is no need to worry in your case!
This is not an option, since there is a 1-2 second delay on the line-in on the Moment, your picture/sound will be out of sync... I have thought of this for a long time, but asked BeoCare, and they say it is not possible..

This is not an option right now but future Moment software update will give the opportunity to suppress the delay (according to a B&O reseller)

I will be looking forward to that, according to BeoCare, the BS35 and the others can havde this delay dissabled, but not the Moment because of its design.
But lets wait and see then :)
The update that allows you to adjust the line in delay as been out for sometime now. You most certainly can use the Moment as described earlier.

Interesting, I don't see this option on mine which is at the latest software version, would you be kind to let us know the path to the setting ?
Hi,
I have a Beovison Avant and 4 Beolab 18 + 1 Beolab 19 connected with WISA. All work fine. Now I habe a Beosound Moment in the same room with Network Link to the Avantm because I want to use the same speaker (2 of the Beolabs). The problem is, that the TV always must be on when I want to listen to my moment. The Power Consumption is very high.
Does anybody knows another way to connect the Speakers?
greetings
Mirco

I have my Moment connected to a BV11, to use the connected Beolab 3:s. When I play the Moment, only the green light goes on and the screen turns on a short time to display e.g songs playing, on the BV11. Thereafter the screen shuts down. Should be the same on the Avant I assume, so the powerconsumption should be minimal.

Yes, this is the same, the avant do. But the power consumption is aboutt 140 W/h.
Is it possible to connect the speaker directly to the moment?
