Hi all,

One old fashion problem :)

I have Beocenter 1 that has built in STB controller. And I want to make it work with STB I need to buy. As I understood I need one cable called IR transmitter which will be connected to IR out and than connect to STB. This is the part I understand.

Thing is how to get adequate STB for my Beocenter 1.

Is there any source where I can look for info about supported STB ?

THANKS :)

Nikola,

May I suggest you review the WiKi HERE for STB-C information.

Hi Keith,

Aren't there earlier stb-c lists? My BC1 uses a Panasonic Freeview box (as does my BV5) but I can't see the Panasonic boxes in those particular lists. As those lists include Apple TV they must be quite late versions of the chips.

I can confirm that there are many earlier versions, but the lists on Beoworld only shows the lists which are likely to still be available.

The following Panasonic units were in earlier versions of the STC-C chip versions:-

  • TU-CT20/30
  • TU-CT20/CN
  • TU-DC40RD
  • TU-HDT104A
  • TU-CTH100

Thanks Keith. Mine are TU-CT20/30.

In Nikola's case the safest thing is for him to call-up the stb list from his TV service menu and then try to find a matching box on the second hand market if his BC1 is an early model.

Thank you Keith !

First thing I did was search and I found link you send me.

Please can you help me how to see which controller version I have?

see enclosed picture of my BC1.

Also I tried to find list on service menu vikinger mentioned but could't find it ...

I'm not a person who deeply understand technical stuff, I'm an architect so please be gentle :)

I can't remember the exact sequence for calling up the service/STB menu, but I think it starts 'Menu' 00 Go.

Search the archive and you will find it.

To get into the Service Menu

  • Select a SETUP menu
  • Using the Beo4 -- Press 0 0 GO within 3 seconds.
  • Select ordinary menu operation to leave Service Mode.

Under MONITOR INFORMATION

  • Software version numbers
The “STB SW x.x” line is only shown if the M2 Processor, 1IC200 SDA6000, is fitted with set top box controller software.
The “STB TABLE xx.x” line shows the version of conversion of set top box remote control codes into Beo4 codes.

OK. We are all making this overcomplicated!

Turn on the TV with the TV button.

Press Menu to bring up the TV Setup page.

Scroll down to Options.

Click, and next page is headed Options.... Select Connections

In my case the next page shows V Tape assigned to V Tape, and AV asigned to STB. (You may have to play around to get STB to appear).  Select the STB, you will get a Settings Stored page, and then the list of STBs already loaded into your TV will come up. In my case it is Force11455/895, Sun Moon Star, Casema Selector, Panasonic TU-CT20, Strong Sat 5200, Teleclub, Vistar 3000 HKG, GI500, but no doubt the STB's already loaded will depend on what the original dealer put on if there wasn't a factory default selection.

So you don't need the service menu to find the STB list (assuming the module is in the TV).
