abyss:You need Tor Order the new ir-eye. There is now a join Button (instead of timer i think). As soon you press the Button the essence will join the for ex. Your Moment in the livingroom. Works really well. Sorry for the late answer, didn't really check the Forum.
Usually the ir-eyes come with the right plug and an 'open' cable end, since they mostly will be installed somewhere.
The cable end must be fittet to the ir-eye then.

There is a tv - and there is a BV
Received the new eye that I ordered. Connected wires as the instructions say. Powered off the Essence and turned back on. Green light illuminated on the eye. Pressing buttons on the eye causes the attached speakers to turn on. But no music. Can still start music with the BeoMusic app.
Tried a Beo 4. Green light on eye blinks when a button is pushed, blinks constantly when volume up or down is pressed. But there is no response from the Essence to any Beo 4 commands.
Any thoughts or help will be greatly appreciated/

Problem solved. Beo 4 was in wrong Audio Option.
