Hi All

There has been some questions over the last time regarding BL7000 and type/sw versions.

I now have in my possesion 3 different versions, and I will try to describe the differences here.

Type 1540, SW 1.3

CONTROL : YES

CLOCK : NO

RDS : NO

PROGRAM -> PL.NEXT : YES

PROGRAM -> STOP TIME(when timer programming) -> NO.STOP : YES

PANEL -> SYSTEM -> COMPNTS -> VIDEO -> OTHER - > V.AUX : YES

PANEL -> SYSTEM -> COMPNTS -> VIDEO -> OTHER - > CDV : NO

Type 1540, SW 2.1

CONTROL : YES

CLOCK : NO

RDS : YES

PROGRAM -> PL.NEXT : YES

PROGRAM -> STOP TIME(when timer programming) -> NO.STOP : YES

PANEL -> SYSTEM -> COMPNTS -> VIDEO -> OTHER - > V.AUX : NO

PANEL -> SYSTEM -> COMPNTS -> VIDEO -> OTHER - > CDV : YES

Type 1631, SW 3.1

CONTROL : NO

CLOCK : YES

RDS : YES

PROGRAM -> PL.NEXT : NO

PROGRAM -> STOP TIME(when timer programming) -> NO.STOP : NO

PANEL -> SYSTEM -> COMPNTS -> VIDEO -> OTHER - > V.AUX : NO

PANEL -> SYSTEM -> COMPNTS -> VIDEO -> OTHER - > CDV : YES

These are the differences, and I really wonder why they made the 1631(3.1) version? Since there only has been features REMOVED. There is nothing I can see that the 1631 has, that 1540 does not ?

In my oppinion the 1540 sw2.1 has to be the most desirable ?

Anyone with other types / sw versions that can add to this list ? It would be nice to know what

you did forget to mention for example sound 1 to sound 5 selection among others on the 1631. This was a version for the AV9000.

Im talking about the CONTROL button and CLOCK button on the touch panel. The CONTROL can be used to control f.ex the cd player while listening to tape.

thanks for that info, its now looking like i have the mid to late version as have no V.AUX on mine, which is a shame as i'm unable to turn on my AV9000 with it which has a digital TV box controled by the STB-C module i have installed in the back of it. Need V.AUX to control the digi box, i take it there is no other function that would control the TV?

For reference, my BL7000 is:

Type 1541, SW 2.1
(there is a hand-written 'RDS' on the sticker)

CONTROL : YES

CLOCK : NO

RDS : YES

PROGRAM -> PL.NEXT : YES

PROGRAM -> STOP TIME(when timer programming) -> NO.STOP : YES

PANEL -> SYSTEM -> COMPNTS -> VIDEO -> OTHER - > V.AUX : NO

PANEL -> SYSTEM -> COMPNTS -> VIDEO -> OTHER - > CDV : YES

Was that related to the BL7000 ROM that while playing fe. CD, the top row of the BL7000 shows the track number only up to 14, after that it goes blank? At least my unit does that. I seem to remember reading that it was a software thing and that it would have been fixed in some version, but I can't remember if it was in the BL or the BG CD.

No, that is the SW in the CD player that fixes the >14 numbers issue,

I have 2 cd7000, and one does not show tracks greater than 14 on my 2.1 SW bl7000
