Just looking for a little advice on a project being undertaken by Steve at Sounds Heavenly, my local dealer and myself, with some help from Lee.
Has anybody ever attempted multiple simultaneous connections to their BeoLabs — a turntable/amplifier (with the signal reduced to line level) into the line socket and a BeoSystem 3 into the Powerlink socket (plus a direct digital connection from a BeoSound 9000 to the front speakers)?
Our feeling is that this wouldn't be a good idea and would confuse the speakers (especially as they would need to be switched from left/right to line setting when playing music using the line rather than Powerlink socket), but has anybody actually tried it? If so, what happened?
Hi politician,
With the exception of Beolab 5 and 90, Beolab speakers should only have a direct connection to one device at once. This avoids issues with background noise and interference between the connected devices, plus it avoids the need to frequently switch between Line and Powerlink mode via the small switches on the speakers (these switches will quickly wear out if they are over-used).
Your project is quite a complex one, so if you are willing to do so, it may be helpful if you could please share some more details on the thread of all the products that you wish to connect together. I'm sure that someone out there will have some extra ideas or insight that could help!
Kind regards, Steve.
Steve.

Hi Steve! This is Richard from the Isle of Man — I should probably change my screen name to my own name to avoid confusion. I'm talking about the quadraphonic turntable project we're working on together. I was just trying to crowdsource some opinions in the hope that somebody would have a brainwave!
No worries Richard!
Would you be happy to share the full list of devices and speakers that you are looking to connect on the thread please? This way we can give the full picture and hopefully someone will see a new option that will help you!
The challenge is to get signals from my quadraphonic turntable (Beogram 6000) and amplifier (Beomaster 3400 or Beomaster 6000 4-channel) out to active speakers. A direct connection will be problematical, as I also need to connect my BeoSystem 3 via Powerlink, and nobody has been able to identify a way to digitise quadraphonic signals for input into the BeoSystem 3. Does anybody have any bright ideas?
