Hi, i am Pit and new in this forum. I have an beocenter 9300 which i used so far with passive speakers. I got  a pair of beolab 8000 mk2, and i cannot connect them properly. The led stays red, if i put the switch on the speakers on line modus i get a little sound if i increase the volume the led gets green, if i then put the swich on the speakers on left/right  i get an proper sound. But only for 30 seconds, then the box turns off. It seems the speaker does not get an proper on out signal. The speakers are connected with an thick high quality mk2 powerlink cable.

Does anybody can help me?

Thanks!

Hi.

I have exactly the same system as you and have not experienced any of the issues you describe. I am assuming you have already double checked that the speaker switches are set correctly for left and right.

Have you tried swapping the leads around? Does this only happen with just one speaker or both? Maybe just have 1 speaker connected at a time and see if anything happens, to try and narrow down what's wrong. My next thoughts would be to change the power link cables. Did they come with the speakers when you bought them and if so they may be damaged somewhere. Replacing them would be recommended. Were the speakers working ok when you bought them? Maybe try to test them on another B&O system if you can.

Hopefully with the guidance of more technically minded members here you will get this sorted soon I hope.

Graeme.

Thanks for your answer. In the meantime i tried several cables, and different boxes. Always the same issue. Thus i guess the problem is caused by the beocenter. It does not send an proper on/ off signal to the speakers. Anybody knows what kind of defekt it might have?
